Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I almost bought the the Arrow The Addiction on BD a few weeks ago from Barnes and Noble during their half off sale. Glad I waited, I just noticed that the Critters is region B so I will have to pass. I just ordered The Addiction and Demolition Man on DiabolikDVD. I love that site.

I prefer OrbitDVD over DD. DD do come in clutch sometimes, though. |

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Friday the 13th (2009) 4K LE sold out pretty fast on Amazon when it dropped to $25 recently. I think it's being sold for $35 elsewhere. I already have the F13 BD box set. I don't like that movie enough to double dip at that price even in 4K.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I found the preorder for the Demolition Man 4k on Amazon and went ahead and placed my order. It was higher at $59.95 but it should be lower by the time it's released.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
DiabolikDVD shipped my Trick R Treat 4K UHD today. Hopefully the post office will be nice enough to deliver it before Halloween.

I want The Cell for sure and may get Inglorious bastards.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
INCUBUS and RAMPO NOIR are nice surprises, and both have what appear to be decent new extras. Wouldn’t mind those in a future sale. Guess I should sell off the ancient DVDs while I still can!

Is Inglorious Basterds supposed to improve on the Universal 4K that seemed to get low marks?

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Incubus could be interesting if they got a nice print to use.

Ooo TCM2. Is one of those sequels that is in no way better than the first but I love it more. Also in that group: Back to the Future 2, Robocop 2, and Gremlins 2.

lol I can’t argue they’re better (though I might try with Gremlins 2). I just like them more.
|
Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Robocop 2 does not belong on a list with Gremlins 2, which even Eli Roth agrees is a great sequel. Robo 2 is just not a good film, but different folks, different strokes.
I know that for gore hounds TCM 2 is a beloved film. I have not seen due to knowing the gore can be a bit extreme to watch and my stomach may not be strong enough to take in TCM 2. Curious if Arrows Lifeforce has all the cuts of the film in HD, Shout received a lot of flak for their somewhat incomplete 4K release of Lifeforce. Excited to buy Lifeforce if it ends up being the definitive release of this fan favorite film. ETA: Hi Def Ninja site seems to indicate we get the 4k International release, think we have a winner |
Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Lifeforce will have both cuts in 4K from what I understand.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Here’s the thing about Robocop 2. The title isn’t indicating that it’s the second Robocop film but it is in fact named after the films’ villain, Robocop 2. So …. yeah that’s pretty cool.
Plus I saw it first way too young (11?) in the theaters. It left a mark. It is by far the worst of the sequels i listed but i love it no less. |

I would not call TCM 2 a horror movie, for what it’s worth. It’s more of a gonzo splatter-comedy. For better or worse, there’s not much of anything else out there like it. Definitely a longtime favorite of mine.
And I likewise find ROBOCOP 2, GREMLINS 2, and BTTF2 to have immense replay value while not actually being better than the originals. :) |

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Don't Torture a Duckling and Deep Blue Sea are both essential upgrades for me.
|
Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Not sure Don't Torture a Duckling needs 4K.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Any word if/when this is getting a US release? And if it features the extended cut?
EDIT: It has both cuts. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...8b87ab3140.jpg 2-DISC LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS
DISC ONE – FEATURE PRESENTATIONS (4K ULTRA-HD BLU-RAY™)
DISC TWO – BONUS FEATURES (BLU-RAY™)

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I received my Demolition Man 4k boxed set over the weekend. I haven't watched the full movie yet but it was great to see it again as I haven't watched it since the VHS days. It's always been one of my favorite Stallone movies outside of his signature franchises(Rocky and Rambo).

If things are okay when the next B&N sale for Arrow happens, I want to get the Mexico trilogy boxset - has anybody who has picked it up had any regrets about getting it?

Shudder and Arrow are partnering, with discs starting to show p this summer. Demons Are Forever and Perpetrator are getting UK/US releases; Nightwatch, The Sadness, Deadstream, Speak No Evil, Huesera: The Bone Woman, and Hellbender are UK-only. The Sadness is getting the UHD treatment.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Anyone have their copy of The Cell yet? After lurking at that other forum there seems to be a video glitch at the 15:15 mark of the Directors Cut. I saw enough reaction in the comments that it made me cancel my preorder until I see if Arrow does anything about the video error.
|
Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Picked up the 4K of The Cell (2000) earlier this evening from my local Barnes & Noble B&M.
Haven't seen this film in quite a while and I look forward to re-visiting it when my schedule opens up for a bit. Also picked up the 4K releases of Demolition Man (1993) & Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment as a part of the 50% off Arrow Sale. |

I believe the video error is on both the 4k and bluray.

Is it one of those glitches you need to freeze frame and zoom in to see?
