Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

The Hellraiser set will be mine. I considered going region free just to get that UK set.

Sorry if I missed something earlier, but are there any plans to release a different version of Bride of Reanimator or am I stuck paying top dollar for the OOP 3 disc version? I was doing an inventory of the DVD's I still need to upgrade and noticed this title far too late.

The 2-Disc Edition gets released in 11 days here in the States. I know Best Buy for a little while had copies out really early months ago.

The 3rd Disc has the R-Rated Cut of the film. Not sure if that matters to you.

Not even a little bit. Unrated all the way.

Thanks. I thought I had something about it, but wasn't sure. I can't find any listings for the 2 disc version. Maybe I'm searching incorrectly some how.

Just ordered the Hellraiser Scarlet Box Set from Diabolik for $99 with shipping. This was my first order from them. Are they any good?

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I thought about it because I'm not a fan of H: III, but the fact that this sold out fast in the UK and it comes with a 200 page hardcover book sealed it for me.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I was in FYE yesterday and I stumbled across a fascinating looking boxset for Blood Bath. Looking up reviews it apparently covers four different movies made from the same production (with additional footage). I'm of course fascinated by the concept of how the movies came to be, but honestly how enjoyable are they to actually watch? I'd hate to sink the money into something like this and it not be at least enjoyable in a cheesy late night movie kind of way.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

If anyone feels compelled to own C.H.U.D., it comes out 11/22

***C.H.U.D FINAL SPECS & RELEASE DATE UPDATE***
C.H.U.D fans we have some good news for you! Our 1-disc edition has now morphed into a 2-disc Limited Edition featuring 2 cuts of the movie and more extras! Sadly the inclusion of all this new content has resulted in the release date taking a knock - C.H.U.D will now be unleashed on 22 November.
Check the full specs below and pre-order your copy here: http://bit.ly/2d9ivkQ
----------------------
THEY’RE NOT STAYING DOWN THERE, ANYMORE!
From the subterranean depths it crawls! Finally making its long-awaited debut on Blu-ray, director Douglas Cheek’s cult ‘80s favorite C.H.U.D. is the ultimate underground movie experience.
In downtown Manhattan, a police captain’s hunt for his missing wife leads to the discovery of a series of mysterious disappearances in the area. Extending his search into the tunnels and sewers below the city streets, it soon becomes clear that something monstrous is lurking in that subterranean world – and it won’t stay there much longer…
Starring John Heard (Home Alone) and Christopher Curry (Starship Troopers) alongside an early appearance from John Goodman, C.H.U.D. has justifiably built up a huge cult following in the years since its release in 1984, with one of the most iconic creature designs of the period.
2-DISC LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS:
-High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation of the Integral Cut from a new 2K film transfer
-High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation of the Original Theatrical Cut [Limited Edition Exclusive]
-Original Uncompressed PCM Mono Audio
- Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
-Brand new audio track featuring isolated score selections and an interview with composers Martin Cooper and David A. Hughes
-Audio commentary with director Douglas Cheek, writer Shepard Abbott, and actors John Heard, Daniel Stern and Christopher Curry
-A Dirty Look– an interview with production designer William Bilowit
-Dweller Designs – an interview with special make-up effects and creature creator John Caglione, Jr.
-Notes from Above Ground: The NYC Locations of C.H.U.D. – featurette hosted by journalist Michael Gingold and filmmaker Ted Geoghegan
-Behind-the-Scenes Gallery
-Extended Shower Scene
-Original Theatrical Trailer
-Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Dan Mumford
- Fully illustrated collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by Michael Gingold [Limited Edition Exclusive]

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

My memory is a little foggy...I think a little cheesy, not very scary, but solid cast and decent effects made this memorable for me.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

A month delay for another cut of the film & more extras? Fine with me.

That means it comes out the same day as C.H.U.D II!

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Does Arrow usually release a standard version of it's limited sets? I want to pick up The Hills Have Eyes and the Hellraiser set, but don't necessarily want or need the extra "stuff."

They typically release standard versions but not always. I'd say those two will probably get standard releases.

Pretty excited about the Black Society Trilogy getting a Blu-Ray release.

Hopefully Arrow doesn't mess that one up

It's also worth noting that both versions of the film---Disc 1's theatrical cut and Disc 2's "Director's Cut"---use identical source material

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Is the "Herschell Gordon Lewis" set released in the UK the same one being released in the US? That is, will it play in Region A?
