Anyway, I like The Mask but haven't seen it in probably 20 years and never felt the need to revisit it. I saw it in the theater, and I remember it being one of those first, "must have" DVDs because it was so packed to the gills with extras (or what was considered packed to the gills back then) which was a new thing coming from VHS. But it was in a dreaded snapper case. But look! Interactive menus on the "CD-sized disc!" That shit felt otherworldly at the time.

Time & Time again, especially on the movie board, you always hear that The Mask was the first and only time that Cameron Diaz was super hot. Looks like Arrow listened to those guys.

She was super hot back then but still not bad looking compared to her peers.

Just give me The Cable Guy in 4K already. Of all the Jim Carrey movies, that is probably the one I like the best and can rewatch over and over and over. Ben Stiller crying, "And they were Asian" in the courtroom footage still kills me to this day. There are so many small but great parts in that movie.

Spoiler:
I remember in later pressings or printings they used the plastic snap cases

^I’ve always hoped someone would do a proper special edition of OUTLAND. And look at that, they actually got Hyams to participate in a new interview even though Shout couldn’t give us any supplements on their edition of his more successful TIMECOP. Not cool that they’re forcing people into 4K with this release, though, so I assume a Blu-ray edition (which may or may not include the new extras) will have to come from elsewhere. I’m wondering if we’ll see Hyams’ 2010 from them down the road now.
Really not digging that artwork, though (not that the original poster was a classic, either).

That’s in the Bava box that Shout announced recently. Presumably Arrow’s doing a 4K release (sigh)? Or a UK edition on both formats?

Arrow is teasing ShawScope vol. 4 on social media.

Will probably be announced on Friday and is reported to have a horror/magic/fantasy bent. The Oily Maniac, The Battle Wizard, and Bloody Parrot are supposedly a lock. Fingers selfishly crossed for Super Inframan.

(not that I still won’t wait for a sale
). It’s silly how long these boutiques have insisted on mining the period kung-fu portions of that catalog, which are admittedly huge but are not entirely comprised of absolute classics by a long shot. Curious if any titles in the overpriced Imprint sets will be included. Shawscope 1 sold out in box form but the other two seem to be in no danger of that happening even now, so pivoting to something else is overdue.

I'm kind of hoping that Black Magic and Bat Without Wings will be included so I can get rid of the old Image DVDs. I know that the 88 Films Blu-ray for Black Magic is out of print and maybe they could avoid any legal problems that other distributors had to work around with the Gene Simmons with Bat Without Wings if it was in a box with generic Shaw Scope artwork

Arrow teased their December releases are being announced on Friday with an image of a basketball about to go in a net. Maybe they'll release Hoosiers on 4k.
