30 Rock is now the Air Jordans of Blu-ray

I emailed Mill Creek and they said the Blu-rays contain all the episodes and any removal of episodes from future pressings is still to be determined.

The blu-ray set is back in stock at Amazon. I've never seen the show so I don't care about panic buying this set, but for everyone else get it while you can.

Sold out again and now it's $130 from Amazon.

I don’t get it. Why not go digital all the way? It has all the eps, it doesn’t have the extras. Is it that much more worth it with extras? It’s one of my favorite comedies of all time and rewatched a few times with another coming, and I don’t think so...

The commentaries are hit or miss. Lorne Michaels barely seemed interested in his commentary, while Gillian Jacobs from Community was really enthusiastic in her commentary on 30 Rock. There is one Alec Baldwin commentary in which I'm fairly sure he is loaded on something.

I searched through Amazon and it looks like all 4 live episodes and 3 others are now no longer available.

Clicked through on the Blu Ray set and the ideals for 66.40 was back. When clicking on other sellers, Amazon had a listing again. Only this time it was 68.95 instead of $129.95. I recognize that is $10 more than DD, but DD is on backorder and Amazon is shipping.

Also read there is a mastering error on 1 disc and need to contact Mill Creek for a replacement disc.

Checked my Season 3 Disc 2 and it indeed is missing the commentaries. I've reached out to Mill Creek support with pics of the set and my mailing address. I will provide an update once I hear back.

Sent the email on Friday and received my response email on Tuesday about the replacement. Basically 2 business days. I will update once I receive the replacement.

I'm surprised this thread wasn't bumped in recent years, considering what I'm about to post about, but here's some "news" for those that didn't read about this 2-3 years ago elsewhere...

If you didn't buy this when it first came out, you should probably double check discs 7, 13, 14, and 18.

The four episodes are missing from most (all?) re-pressings of this set, despite the episode titles being printed on the disc art of each affected disc.

I bought my Blu-ray copy on Dec 31 for $42. A great deal and a 100% legitimate sealed copy. Each disc displays those episode names, but when I finally got around to watching them, those episodes are not in the disc menu and are completely missing.

Obviously, folks on Reddit (and surely Blu-ray dot com) discovered this years ago, and reached out to Mill Creek. Surprisingly (to me), Mill Creek was more than happy to send replacement discs with the episodes intact to anyone who asked (with proof of purchase and photos showing the discs' episode listings and photos showing the disc menu missing those episodes, naturally).
In other words: they intentionally removed the episodes, but retained replacement discs with the episodes to send to anyone who noticed their discs were missing them.

That is... until now. Mill Creek no longer owns distribution rights for 30 Rock, according to the support email I received.
Further, they are now saying that they have no more inventory of replacement discs, and therefore cannot and will not provide them.
There are online stores that still have copies for sale (deep discount, amazon, etc.), but there's no way to tell if they're complete or incomplete, because the packaging is the same.

I wasn't in the "rush to buy this because it's the only way to get the complete show!" camp, as I obviously bought this set about 4.5 years late. However, I'm kind of surprised that they even removed them from the physical set at all, and did so without any changes to the packaging or disc art. Like... it's obvious those episodes aren't on the discs that have printed text saying they're on there.

tl;dr - 30 Rock Complete Series on Blu-ray hasn't been "complete" since a re-press a few years back, and if you happen to be unlucky enough to own one of the incomplete copies, you can no longer request replacement discs.
You're out of luck, unless you want to seek them out in another fashion.

Are the missing episodes the 'problematic' ones involving blackface, etc. or just random episodes? I never did buy the Blu-ray set as I already have all the DVD season sets. Lesser image quality but at least I know they are complete.

They're the 'problematic' ones only. Two of which are the 'live' episodes, which I was most looking forward to watching, since I like that gimmick in general.

Those "live" episodes were great. To this day, the "Amos and Andy" sendup with Tracy and Jon Hamm still makes me die laughing.

Were the Seinfeld sets complete with all episodes? I was unaware Mill Creek would send replacement discs at one point for the missing episodes.

Mills Creek should get out of the business.

They did a horrible job on Miami Vice too.
