Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series

Retailing for $100, the box set includes all 52 episodes with new featurettes, lenticular art cards, and a chrome Batman Beyond Funko Pop. 41 of the 52 episodes from the series have been fully remastered for the new release, with the other 11 using a different process as the original film negatives had become damaged.

The remastered Batman Beyond will be available digitally on October 15 with the home media release arriving on October 29. Season one of the series will debut on the DC Universe app much earlier though, arriving August 23.

First premiering in January 1999, Batman Beyond told the story of teenager Terry McGinnis who discovers an elder Bruce Wayne’s secret and later comes under his wing to take on the mantle of Batman in a cyberpunk, futuristic Gotham City. Will Friedle voiced the lead roel with Kevin Conroy reprising as Bruce Wayne. A fan favorite since its premiere, the world of Batman Beyond has continued in the pages of DC comics since the series ended.

I've never seen this series. For those who have seen it, do you think it's worth owning? I'll likely wait and watch the early release remastered episodes on DC Universe 1st and see if I like it enough.

Better sell my DVD set while it still has value. This looks fantastic.

Can't wait for all of the pics from people who get this from amazon.com. I doubt they learned from the Batman Animated Series fiasco with sending them in yellow envelopes.

Nice, I’ll grab this eventually. I have the complete series DVD set but it’ll be nice having it in HD to go along with my Batman: The Animated Series complete set.

If you have never seen it, you are missing out on a treat. I absolutely love this show and have all three seasons on DVD. If you are a fan of BTAS, you will love it.

Given Disney's near-total disinterest in season sets, don't hold your breath. Not that Fox cared all that much on their own about X-series either, dropping Legion on Blu-ray after a single season and never bothering with The Gifted at all.

Cool. As I said, I'll watch some of the remastered episodes on DC Universe and if I get into it and like it, I'll pick up the new BD set come October.

At least I'll be able to see the episodes next month.

The Funko Pop actually looks great and not like a useless trinket this time.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series

Everyone needs to hurry up and preorder this so it sells out fast so they will announce the standard edition like they did with the Batman Animated Series. In fact you need to preorder two copies each.

I love this show as much as TAS but I'm going to wait until it hits the $40 - $45 price.

It's just as good as the rest of them and is connected to Batman and JL series..

For what it's worth I pre-ordered the original Batman TAS set when it was $125 and at one point it dropped to $65 and was locked in. I wouldn't be shocked if this may do similar.

It's worth it. It connects to the Batman, Superman, JL, JLU, Static Shock and Zeta Project tv shows. The villains are new and storylines are solid. The only disappointment was the series finale as it was just a regular episode that was burned off on Cartoon Network on a random Friday after the show stopped being scheduled on the WB channel. Timm and company made an epilogue to the series but it's part of the JLU series.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. Several Marvel writers along with people who worked on this series did or are planning to do a formal pitch to revive the X-Men series and bring it to the Disney+ service.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series

Thank you. As I said, I'll watch some episodes that drop on DC Universe next month. They're apparently posting the 1st season of the newly remastered episodes. Then I'l decide for sure.

One thing I'm hugely disappointed besides the ridiculous retail price is the fact that the set doesn't include Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. They should have included it and the should put both cuts of the film in the set.

I wonder if it still could happen to add it before release. Was the 2 BTAS movies announced right away or after initial announcement?
