Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...8437607022.jpg
Retailing for $100, the box set includes all 52 episodes with new featurettes, lenticular art cards, and a chrome Batman Beyond Funko Pop. 41 of the 52 episodes from the series have been fully remastered for the new release, with the other 11 using a different process as the original film negatives had become damaged. The remastered Batman Beyond will be available digitally on October 15 with the home media release arriving on October 29. Season one of the series will debut on the DC Universe app much earlier though, arriving August 23. First premiering in January 1999, Batman Beyond told the story of teenager Terry McGinnis who discovers an elder Bruce Wayne’s secret and later comes under his wing to take on the mantle of Batman in a cyberpunk, futuristic Gotham City. Will Friedle voiced the lead roel with Kevin Conroy reprising as Bruce Wayne. A fan favorite since its premiere, the world of Batman Beyond has continued in the pages of DC comics since the series ended. Read more at https://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/1...VFriopO6uea.99 |

For those who have seen it, do you think it's worth owning? I'll likely wait and watch the early release remastered episodes on DC Universe 1st and see if I like it enough. |

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Better sell my DVD set while it still has value. This looks fantastic.
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I am wondering the quality of the 11 that were not fully restored.
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Can't wait for all of the pics from people who get this from amazon.com. I doubt they learned from the Batman Animated Series fiasco with sending them in yellow envelopes.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Yes!!!!!
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I never thought this would happen. Outstanding! |
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Nice, I’ll grab this eventually. I have the complete series DVD set but it’ll be nice having it in HD to go along with my Batman: The Animated Series complete set. |

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Cool. As I said, I'll watch some of the remastered episodes on DC Universe and if I get into it and like it, I'll pick up the new BD set come October.
At least I'll be able to see the episodes next month. |
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
This was an awesome show and I will be definitely picking up this set!
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
The Funko Pop actually looks great and not like a useless trinket this time.
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Everyone needs to hurry up and preorder this so it sells out fast so they will announce the standard edition like they did with the Batman Animated Series. In fact you need to preorder two copies each.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I love this show as much as TAS but I'm going to wait until it hits the $40 - $45 price.

Given Disney's near-total disinterest in season sets, don't hold your breath. Not that Fox cared all that much on their own about X-series either, dropping Legion on Blu-ray after a single season and never bothering with The Gifted at all.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Thank you. As I said, I'll watch some episodes that drop on DC Universe next month. They're apparently posting the 1st season of the newly remastered episodes. Then I'l decide for sure.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
One thing I'm hugely disappointed besides the ridiculous retail price is the fact that the set doesn't include Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. They should have included it and the should put both cuts of the film in the set.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
The link in the first post says Return of the Joker is included. The description on the official DC store pre-order page includes it as well.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Never watched a second of it despite being a huge BTAS fan. My son and I are still slowly going through that complete set but should be done well before this comes out.

Timm and company made an epilogue to the series but it's part of the JLU series.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I'll have no need to own it right away if they put it on DC Universe like they did BTAS.
I'm still salty about the whole Dick Grayson/Babs/Bruce crap that Timm put in there (though I don't remember if they actually reveal it in the series itself). |

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. Several Marvel writers along with people who worked on this series did or are planning to do a formal pitch to revive the X-Men series and bring it to the Disney+ service.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I feel like for the most part, the DC Timmverse holds up. I can't say the same for X-men the animated series or Spider-man. Just the style of animation alone doesn't hold up.

There is something hinted at in the anime that is expanded up on in the officially canon comic, basically talking about something Timm has always wanted (see the animated Killing Joke) and which he shoehorned in here, basically involving the relationship between Batman, Babs, and Grayson. If you want I can dig up the panels but ugh.

Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
This is now available via Digital HD for $49.99.
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
I have my Target preorder locked in for $64. Since I paid $62 for BAS at Amazon, that seemed reasonable.
|
Re: Batman Beyond -- The Complete Series
Gonna try and hold out for the non-Funko set.
