Hoping they’ll release a regular 4K disc only so I can add them
to my old set with the 3D discs I added to a while back.

I have all 3 ZAVVI steelbooks, so I'll just get the regular 4K's and swap discs... These steelbooks other than the insides look bad.

Are the 4ks a major jump over the Blurays of 1 and 2? I only have them on DVD (both the Toy Box and the DTS remasters), I have all the others on Blu and I'm thinking about finding cheap used copies of 1 and 2 in hidef.

They aren't a huge upgrade, granted I've never done an A-B comparison. I have 1-3 4k steelbooks (best buy sale) but 4 is a regular 4k.

If you lived in my area, I'd give you mine. I don't need 'em.

I haven't been to Kansas City since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. We used to drive up from Coffeyville to catch Royals games.

I'm good, there's a good used market around here, the only thing is I'll need slipcovers to match 3, 4 and the two specials.

Has anyone ever wondered if a 4-Movie collection would be in a 4K UHD edition someday?

Disney isn’t one to repackage existing stuff at this point, especially for 4K. They’re now concentrating on Disney+ and all things Star Wars and Marvel. I guess if Pixar wanted to do something, they could easily get Disney’s blessing, but they never have done anything like that.

Maybe if a Toy Story 5 comes out. That's about the only chance I see that happening. Even then, I'd still be surprised.

Hmmm...I'm not sure if a 5th full-length "Toy Story" film is possible. My belief is that the "Toy Story" series is finished.

They said that after 3, and yet we got a Toy Story 4 anyway. Another movie is always possible so long as Disney believes there's money to be made on it.

But will physical media even be around?

Do you really expect physical media to be around in 2030? Disney has a streaming service as does everyone else (and if not, expect them to).

Will retailers even carry movies on disc? 2010 to today we lost many retailers, space has shrunk significantly, studios stopped releasing etc.

Hardly “classic Gizmo” but a real thing. Criterion isn’t even releasing 4K discs. COVID spend that timeline up a good 5 years. We can watch Theatrical movies at home. We can stream. People are downsizing who wants discs when they can just use their remote? It’s a real concern even if you take my personality out of the mix.

Ah, brining back the classics from 2008 onward that physical media is dying out. I guess you can bring this up again in 2034.

Dunno, still enjoying blu and 4K.

Gee, I wonder for how much longer.
