2 and 3 were already released on 4K in the 3 movie box set from a few years ago. I doubt they are going to release them again.

I think that 3 movie boxed set went out of print so they might get rereleased.

I would love for them to do a big boxset at the end of Cobra Kai and include that entire show.

I already have the aforementioned 3 movie 4K set so I just may wait on hopefully that...if it ever happens. I figure it might be likely since they only did DVD releases for Cobra Kai.

Its too bad this 30th anniversary Q and A at the Japanese American Museum isn't included as an extra. It's really wonderful and includes an interview with Pat Morita's daughter who gifts Miyagi's Military Uniform to the Museum at the end.

Here is the bonus material from the new 4K disc. Basically what's new is a commentary from the creators of Cobra Kai and new deleted scenes. Everything else is legacy extras,

SYNOPSIS
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the coming-of-age classic — from Academy Award®-winning director John G. Avildsen (1976, Rocky) — that will leave you cheering! There is more to karate than fighting. This is the lesson that Daniel (Ralph Macchio), a San Fernando Valley teenager, is about to learn from a most unexpected teacher: Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki “Pat” Morita in his Academy Award®-nominated performance, Best Supporting Actor, 1984), an elderly handyman who also happens to be a master of the martial arts. His training and these vital lessons will be called into play when an outmatched Daniel faces Johnny (William Zabka), the skilled leader of the Cobra Kai — a vicious gang of karate school bullies — in a no-holds-barred karate tournament for the championship of the Valley.

Re: The Karate Kid -- 35th Anniversary Edition -- 4K UHD -- 4/16/19

I just got my copy of the Karate Kid and if you don't have it on 4k already I highly recommend it. The reprint of the VHS artwork is pretty awesome. I haven't watched the new deleted scenes but I hope parts 2 and 3 get individual releases as well with the VHS artwork. The Trilogy boxed set went out of print pretty fast.

I also picked up the new 4K disc set. I thought it was interesting how the slip cover looks like an old dinged up VHS case.

I've already watched the movie plenty of times. So I might try to listen to the new commentary track with the Cobra Kai creators at some point this summer. It would be interesting to hear a fresh perspective of this movie.

I didn't listen to the whole commentary yet but it just gave more insight into things from the movie and how it tied into Cobra Kai. The extra deleted scenes were more like outtakes. It's my first time watching Karate Kid in 4k.
