Unsure if this was posted but pretty amazing deal over on Amazon right now for 12 disc Planet of the Apes collection released last month.

it includes
-all 5 original films (including 2 alternate cuts of last 2 original apes flicks)
-Burton`s flick
-New Serkis Apes films

Seems confirmed on another forum that same bonus features are there including the epic 2 hour documentary on first apes movie

Set also includes collector cards.

At $40 on Amazon.com and $38 on Amazon.ca that is a steal, I would say.

Man, that's a great deal. I've already picked up the new trilogy for $12 total on Black Friday last year and the original Legacy collection for $14.96 this summer. 4K and digital codes are really tempting, but I think I'll stick with what I have.

If I didn't have those, though? Yeah, that deal is a no-brainer!

Only thing is that it does not include the 13 hours of bonus stuff from DVD release Burton film (they were never ported over to Blu) but most loath that flick anyway. However, for completionists like me wanting the ultimate ape, seems you can get that 2 disc SE from Amazon sellers for a buck (

That is a great deal. I already have six of the movies on digital already, though, so I'd pass for myself, but I do need an item for a charity auction in the near future. Hmm.

So the set gives you digital copies for all nine movies?

I would of jump on this but I brought Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution Collection Blu-ray back in 2010 for $46. Been trying to sale this on CL for years. Plus the have the other movies on Blu-ray already.

Yes. I believe the recent trilogy are upgradable to 4k too.

So this arrived today (that was fast!)...can confirm that all discs have the features of original blu-ray releases right down to the isolated scores on the original sequels.

Also, each film has it's own digital code sheet. The collectible cards form a larger poster with images on the back of the original poster artwork. Neat!

I almost didn't look at this thread this time... Wow! Amazon order cancelled (I thought they might PM but they're completely OOS at the moment) and ordered from BB. I was on the fence at $40 as I own a UK BR set with all the movies except the last - but with all of them in a case design I happen to like *and* digital copies I can give my son... $30 is just too good a price to pass up.

Thanks for the post! I just needed War and didn't the other most recent two on 4K so I picked this up. I will sell my old blu-ray set of the old flicks and sell the digital codes and will end up getting the entire set for way cheaper than I should. I will still keep my old Evolution monkey head set for the TV and animated series. Plus...I like having the Cornelius and Caesar heads on my shelf. They just look cool.

Looks nice but I’ve got them all on Blu except the 2001 film and I don’t think they ever released a version with all the DVD extras, did they?

The franchise has nowhere to go but up from there. Working backwards from worst to best might actually be a smart plan.

All digital copies plus 3 movies in 4K for around $30 is a no brainer to me.
