Warner Archive bringing more Hammer to Blu-ray

Dracula A.D. 1972 and Satanic Rites of Dracula are coming (as individual releases) next month. I don't think there's a firm release date yet...?

Interesting. Wonder if WAC will release Horror of Dracula next.

Any links to who owns what Hammer pictures? I'm too lazy to look lol.

I watched the Shout/Scream Factory CC Panel last week on their TV network. They said more Hammer would most likely be coming in 2019.

I've been paralyzed when it comes to purchasing any Hammer titles. I can't decide whether to go with U.S. releases or import. I should just start purchasing. I do trust WAC.

While the WAC discs will undoubtedly be nice, these films are worthy of supplements, something WAC is unlikely to do beyond anything included on the prior DVDs, which I don't recall being much. Would much rather see Shout or Arrow get ahold of them.

Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, Britain’s premier masters of the macabre, bring the Horror of Dracula to vivid, full-color death in this retelling of Bram Stoker’s spellbinding vampire tale. Dracula (Lee), a centuries-old Transylvanian nobleman damned to an eternal half-life, regularly finds new victims. He also finds Dr. Van Helsing (Cushing), a scientist who becomes the Count’s implacable foe in a deadly game of bat-and-mouse. This is the UK version titled “DRACULA”, and featuring footage previously restored by the British Film Institute and Hammer Films. Warner Archive’s new release restores the original color palette of the film, using dye-transfer Technicolor prints as reference, and has been meticulously cleaned of film-related damage for a superior presentation

The dread is here – as are the power and pathos of this genre landmark by which Hammer Studios ushered in a new era of screen chills from classic evildoers. Tremble through that era again. Unleash the horror.
Also new on remastered DVD!

Too bad they don't just release the 4 Film Favorites DVD as a blu ray collection like they have done with a few others.

What's cool about HOD is that it's the uncut version with the footage that was found in Japan a few years ago. Guess I have to start buy the WB Hammer movies now.
