Blu-ray slipcovers: Discard or keep?
Do you keep the slipcovers on your cases? I'm beginning to dislike them very much because they look like stupid little books when displayed on a shelf. To me the library looks much cleaner without them.

They look naked without them, when they're supposed to have them. (I've gotten a few from Amazon that were missing them, not sure if they just never had them or someone took them off.) It annoys me to no end these things aren't shrinkwrapped, as they can get taken off in the stores but also some stores put stickers on them. I never buy discs packaged this way if the store has put any sort of sticker on it.

I've had some success selling slipcovers on eBay. There is a collector's market for them (mostly b-d [dot] com members, I'm sure).

I keep them, and used to care more about having them, but less so as my interest in collecting physical media has subsided.

I don’t care about them at all, but if they come with a case, I just keep them. The only ones I really care about getting (for uniformity purposes) are the seasons to Vikings.

I usually buys them with it and keeps them but I don’t necessarily go out of my way to get them with the exception of the one time for an old Disney Ghibli Blu-ray release as I went to EBay to get the Cat Returns with a slipcover since no retailer had it. It was the only one without it and it would had driven me crazy.

Given the choice, I'll always take the slipcover. The slip cover often protects against damage to the flimsy trap sheet cover mainly caused from the giant holes in those eco-cases.
They don't really take up any extra space on your shelf and can often provide additional artwork and photos.
In several instances, the cardboard cover has become more valuable than selling the rest of the package by itself.
If you decide to sell a title later, it's always considered extra value to sell it complete.

I keep them because I like the look of them on the shelf, and I get mildly annoyed when a new Disney/Marvel title should have one but doesn't (like in the Amazon/Disney feud). But I don't let it bother me too much.

Gone like a freight-train, gone like yesterday
Gone like a soldier in the civil war, bang bang
Gone like a '59 Cadillac
Like all the good things that ain't never coming back
She's gone (gone) gone (gone) gone (gone) gone, she's gone
Discard if that wasn't clear enough.
