I'm a little surprised that it does not appear there is a Target exclusive for this. Blade Runner 2049 seems like a perfect fit for one of their exclusive book releases ala Logan and Alien: Covenant.

Was kinda hoping for a special release with that whiskey from the movie.

There was a uk release that came with the glasses from that scene. I missed out on it though. I managed to find two of those bottles. Contemplating going back for the second one.

I think just the steelbook will hold me over. I do kinda regret some of the "extras" I've picked up over the years, they make our place a bit too cluttered.

This looks pretty cool. It's the only bundle I've seen that includes all versions.

Shame about the Mondo art. ^

Yeah, but you can't expect them to get everything right :)

In a perfect world it would be the same as the BB 4K steelbook

I think the key there is that those were Fox releases. But yeah, it would be a perfect match for those that have the digibook edition of the original.

I'm not a fan of the Mondo art either, but the package itself is tempting. I'm willing to pay a premium for a 3D - 4k bundle (I purchased Kong and Guardians 2). I wish there were more of those stateside.

I'd like to have the steelbook and the horse, and none of the other stuff.

I'll settle for Best Buy's 4K exclusive artwork, though.

If anyone was looking for the 3D version, it's a Best Buy exclusive.

$24.99 for the regular blu-ray/dvd combo is expensive during the first week of release.

Re: Blade Runner 2049 --> 1/16/18

^ I agree. I'm used to seeing $19.99 ($19.96 @ Walmart) for new releases, then jacked up to $24.99/$24.96 after a couple of weeks. They started doing this inflated pricing with the newer blockbuster releases, they probably think they can get more for Blade Runner because of its popularity and alot of people will probably pay it. I'd rather see lowered first-release pricing, they can jack it up to whatever they want to after that.

What popularity? It was one of the biggest financial bombs of the year (albeit a good one, but still...), evidenced by the relatively small number of copies stocked on store shelves.
It's gonna be $9.99 soon enough.

It is $19.99 digitally. With all extras. I went that route but curious about 3 D...

Not really a fair assessment. Everything short of major AAA titles are being stocked in limited quality, and then reordered a week or so later. It's been like this during this entire quarter. A lot of catalog titles are not even showing up in store anymore.

I used to buy 75% of my purchases every Tuesday at Best Buy, but now I'm finding myself just ordering from Amazon so I know I'll get them. What really pisses me off is that I preordered the 4k steelbook, and woke up to an out of stock email this morning. I'm keeping the order open because I know the stores will have more steelbooks shipped to them in a week or so. No use having the preorder option if they can't keep their own stock straight.

The cinematographer says avoid the 3D version, which is why I picked up the 4K steelbook before it sold out

The 4K version has really positive reviews

Roger Deakins is the cinematographer, not the director.

Walmart and DVDEmpire both had listings for it, which they wouldn't have it it were a Best Buy exclusive. Right now, all of them including Best Buy are stating it's out of stock.

Whether it's really an exclusive or not, there seems to be a big supply chain shortage for the 3D edition.

Yep, your right. My bad, I corrected. But still, sounds like the 3D version isn't worth it.

When I was at Best Buy last night picking up my steelbook copy, I saw the 3D copy and there is a sticker on it that says "Best Buy 3D exclusive." I'm pretty sure that's as big of a confirmation as you can get, at least here in the US. I was surprised as well, because there were several listings before yesterday and we never heard it was going to be an exclusive.

I watched this in 3D last night (it's not an exclusive up here, although I had to hit three stores -- a Best Buy and two Walmarts -- to find one still in stock; 3D titles frequently sell out on release day at the various big box stores in the region around my office, go figure). It's a very effective, well-designed conversion (frankly, what isn't these days?), with excellent depth in the many interior scenes, but subtler in the foggier, dustier, generally grayer outdoor scenes, and never overwhelming the story which, for me, pales in comparison to the original anyway and certainly doesn't justify the hefty running time. Still, it's visually arresting, never boring, and the undeniably brilliant Roger Deakins can pound salt. If I ever go 4K, I'd be happy to pick up a copy of that disc, too. I'm sure it's excellent.

I preordered the 3D version from Deep Discount, and it shipped out yesterday. I sure hope it's the 3D version. Their site still lists it. It also indicates it's a Warner Archive release. So maybe Best Buy has exclusive rights to sell it in-store but it can be ordered from any online store?
