Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Here's a September unboxing if anyone is interesting. This makes two months in a row of a couple would-have-been-doubles for me. Probably best to resist the temptation to join....

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

No problem. I've never heard of Gut, either. Though the number of independent horror releases on Blu-ray have exploded in the past two or three years.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

From the OHMC thread:
So I took a gamble and subscribed to HorrorPack for a month. It's one of those monthly subscription boxes, four horror blurays for $20. Given my extensive horror library, I wasn't expecting much, but was hoping they would do something special for October.

I'm pretty happy overall, two duds and two pretty cool items, hopefully. The duds, only because I own them or better versions already, were the barebones Midnight Madness edition of Children of the Corn, and the BD/DVD/digital multipack of Purge.

Then I got what appears to be a limited release Indy called Dolly Deadly. The case is signed by the director.
https://www.amazon.com/Dolly-Deadly-...s=Dolly+deadly

And then a HorrorPack exclusive (different cover art ?) of Late Night Double Feature, which I think is also a month and a half before general release, at least according to Amazon. This looks perfect for anthology theme day.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Man some of these movies are just awful Even at $20, I wouldn't even want them. October at least didn't sound too bad. What is the general consensus so far and is there anything else like this for other movie genres or just blu-rays?

And I saw that DVD and blu-ray are different titles. Anyone get the DVD side?

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Anyone still doing this? The new year subscription bonus is the Pet Semetery making-of BD, which is the sort of thing I'd like to own.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

This would be right up my alley if I didn't already own such a large collection. Recent months have had a decent mix of obscure and niche horror movies. They try to include one or two "exclusives" in the rotation on a regular basis, though one I believe was a BD-R put out by some micro-label.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

While I enjoyed the service, and I only ended up with 2 duplicates over the course of the sub, I didn't renew the subscription.

I have been watching the monthly (blu-ray) unboxing videos to see what the "exclusive" has been since they started in January, and a few looked liked something I would enjoy. In the first 5 months of this year though I think 4 would have been duplicates (although I think 1 of those I had just picked up).

So I was happy to see they had a "Scream Cleaning" flash sale back in April with $5 Blu-ray & DVD titles, where I picked up 6 blu-ray titles from past boxes, and I noticed they are doing it again with "Scream Cleaning 2" flash sale. This time they added some of the limited edition titles ($15-$30) for sale, but you have to be a current subscriber or past subscriber to access the sale this time. I picked up another $5 title that was out of stock last sale (did they find more in the warehouse?), and a couple of the limited editions that weren't for sale/available anywhere else I could find.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Thanks guys! I went ahead and did the year plan. I justified it as coming out to $20 a month factoring in the freebie t-shirt and documentary. I think they now promise one exclusive a month, so pretty good chance I'll average at least two new-to-me (at least in BD) releases a month. And I'll build up my trade or sell or gift pile a bit with the extras.

Plus, I'm hoping that a monthly mystery box or three (I also do a comic block and am considering others) will help satisfy my shopping addiction and cut down on my binging.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

October update: Disappointed that October didn't include anything special at all, just the normal four BDs with one of them a Horrorpack exclusive. Initially thought I owned 3 of the 4, but it turned out to be a solid "win" of a month for me.

While I do own this BD, this is a new sku with a UV code.

Thought I owned this, but it turns out I owned 2 and 3 but not the original.

Was sure I had this, but guess I just really knew the cover from ads and netflix or whatever.

This is the exclusive title of the month, signed by the director and writer. And while the exclusives are usually low budget and poorly reviewed fare, this one seems solid, with a good review here.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

This was another month that I didn't own any. While I certainly have received my share of duplicates, I've had pretty good luck with them.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

I would have had 2 this month, as I already own Lost Boys : The Tribe and Houses October Built. I'm shocked I don't own the original Joyride even on DVD.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

I am late to the party and just recently joined Horrorpack.

I have been trying to buy a lot of the limited edition blu rays. I'm down to needing Killer Piņata and Badass Monster Killer.

If anyone has these for sale, let me know.
