Zootopia was an amazing experience for my family.
We knew nothing about it, just that it was a kids flick and one weekend we wanted to take our girls to the cinema so Zootopia just happened to be it.
To saw we were all blown away would be an understatement - it was a fantastic ride and we can't wait to see it again on Blu-ray!
We'll be splashing for the 3D version too.

If you get the exclusive Target version be sure to be on the look out for the second digital code sheet to redeem the exclusives. The digital code for the movie also can be redeemed for points at Disney Movie Rewards even thought it doesn't mention DMR at all on the sheet. It was also a nice surprise to find that the Target exclusive slipcover art is different than the regular case art underneath.

Here's what I'll tell you, bluetoast. In the theatrical release thread, I saw several people talk about how it was good. I wanted a father-daughter date with our four-year-old so I said, cool, we'll give this a shot. We. Both. Loved it. Twenty minutes into the movie, I turned to her and said, with the sort of pleasant surprised tone you reserve for fellow adults who also had low expectations, "This is a really good movie!" To which she said, "Yeah, I like it a lot. Can you get the Blu-ray?" Pre-ordered that day. It arrived and her bedtime is too early to watch it on a weekday and we're both really, really excited to watch it on Friday night together as a family. She's been talking about the character Flash for months. It's a great movie.

Personally I've found the last few "Disney" releases (Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Frozen, Wreck It Ralph) to be better than the Pixar output during the same years. This is includes Inside Out which I thought was too long, but the best of the recent Pixar movies.
Zootopia was awesome. It should have got a lot more attention than it received.

Rented this last night for date night with the wife and it was excellent! We don't watch a ton of animated movies since we don't have kids, but this one was highly entertaining. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this if you're remotely interested in Disney animated movies.

Next day, one of them restocked with a few 3D copies and a ton of 2D.
I couldn't find the 2D exclusive at either store I went to, so I just picked up the regular version.

I got a notice saying I had to approve a later delivery date on the $5 gift card. Since we were charged $5 less on the movie and a separate charge comes for this, I wonder what happens if I let it cancel.

But clicking on the link in that email takes me to an order status page with no ability to approve or cancel the item due to the delay, as is stated in the email. (What a lousy website.) So since I can't do much of anything, I'll hope that Target does indeed cancel the gift card since no action was (or can be) taken by me.
