How nice of Disney. I guess spending money on their product is not enough, I have to buy a 3-D release for a TV I don't have in a format Disney is abandoning.

Well at least they priced it at $19.99 when it was released. And Disney hasn't abandoned 3D Marvel. Those are still getting released.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. If you want the code, they force you to overpay for that useless 3d disc.

Well based on the hundreds of facebook posts anytime the Force Awakens dvd is mentioned, seems like everyone wants 3D. Maybe they're just trying to give Disney shit.

The Digital Bits confirmed the 20 minutes of bonus content is online only. Not disc.

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/column...ts/030916_1600

We’ve learned (via Target’s Customer Service) that the Target-exclusive Blu-ray edition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming on 4/5 will have 20 minutes of exclusive content, but that it will not be on an actual disc – it’s download only. Here’s their official statement, sent via e-mail to those who pre-ordered the discs:

“In an earlier email, we informed you that the bonus content for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Blu-ray/DVD/Digital) (Target Exclusive) would be included on a bonus disc. This was incorrect. Instead, the bonus content will be available as a digital download.

The packaging for this Target-exclusive version will contain an insert with a unique code and URL for downloading the bonus content via Disney Movies Anywhere.

We apologize for any confusion our earlier email may have caused. If you have any questions, please call Target Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869.”

Not worth the trouble for a couple interviews and a look at a few weapons.

Probably just giving them shit. There was one really good 3D scene. That shot of the Star Destroyer got audible gasps from the audience.

Yep, that was the only scene that made the 3D worth it.

If that is the keepcase with the movie poster art that would be awesome.

I will buy one to open and one to keep sealed though it has no value.

Can't wait for all the bitching when people can't peel the BB sticker cleanly off the slip-cover.

It'll be their fault for buying it there in the first place. Just wondering whether I'll get to see this or "Spacehunter" in 3D at home first!

I agree but what sucks that it's part of the documentary, which is 70min on all versions and with the TARGET exclusive it completes the [90 minute] Documentary.

What extra insight will they give? I'm sure most of the interesting parts of their interviews will be in the main segment. I would rather have an extra interview with a crewmember. I find it more interesting to see the filmmaking process. But that's me.

I see the Best Buy Steelbook Individual Releases of the OT & PT have a character on the front and the movie poster on the back.

But the Best Buy Steelbook release of TFA has Kylo Ren on the front but doesn't have the movie poster on the back?

Am I wrong? Why wouldn't they put the TFA poster on the back cover?

Ahh...a black keepcase? How many movies have gotten one of those? I think Ant-Man was the last one.
Avengers Age of Ultron had a red case so maybe Disney likes the different color cases.

How do you know it's footage that otherwise would have been in the documentary? It could be four five-minute EPKs unless you guys have info I don't.

I hope the script read is the whole thing and not a three minute highlight reel.

Its probably interviews with the cast about that day as i'm sure cameras were not allowed to film

And I don't think I'd care to see 2+ hours of them going over it really. If that were an extra, that would be a huge extra feature they would have highlighted.

They did film it, here's J.J. talking about it with a two second excerpt:

But yeah it might be a long ass extra if it's the entire video, but I would certainly be interested in it.

I really like that regular edition black cover. Don't need any "exclusive" version.

i'm still kind of amazed that none of the footage shot for documentaries and featurettes ended up leaking some how

Dumb question probably but what exactly are the differences between them besides the cover and/or case?
