I did my in store pickup for the regular 3D version and then went by to check out the steelbook. I gave in and ended up picking that up too. I'll give it a week so so and decide which to return. The $13 difference really pisses me off, but I haven't missed a Marvel steelbook yet, going back to the original Avengers preorder.

Is the grey box that would contain the code blank? Mine contained only one sheet and it was the typical code sheet that gets you everything when the code entered. (Rewards, Digital Copy, Comics, Etc.)

Yea, the Target exclusives have been digital for a few movies now, since at least Winter Soldier. The Age of Ultron exclusive was through Marvel's site, which I was able to rip, but the Ant-Man one is through Disney Movies Anywhere.

For those that pre-ordered the Steelbook at $29.99, what were you charged? I thought that we were automatically supposed to get the lowest price ($24.99), but I have a pending charge for $29.99 and the receipt they gave me when I picked it up says $27.99, so I have no clue what the actual charge will be.

Pretty sure Best Buy has always done that. They never automatically make price adjustments to preorders.

Pretty clear example of a production failure. Call of email Disney Movie Rewards.

Me neither. I hate the extra cost here (though they did adjust my price down to $24.99 when I asked them -- I'm a regular there and they weren't going to haggle over $3), but I really wanted to complete the set. It's pretty cool :

Too bad they never did one for Iron Man 3 (Zavi did one for the UK, but I passed on that).

The only one I couldn't resist and pick up was Guardians of the Galaxy. Still my favorite of the bunch.

Used my Target BF coupon and pm'd BB and picked up the 3D version for a bit under $16.50.

Is the Zavvi SteelBook region free?

I'm glad I broke away from the home media collector's mentality that I used to have with DVD's, otherwise i'd be hunting for all those too.

But it's long OOP and it's pricey on eBay.

Edit : Looks like there are two other IM3 Steelbooks as well :

(this one is a Lenticular Steelbook, whatever the Hell that is)

It's probably like the Iron Man 2 Target exclusive (which I actually forgot about since it wasn't through Best Buy). Except that was a MetalPak instead of a Steelbook.

I got the Ant-Man and Guardians steelbooks. Pretty miffed that I missed out on The Winter Solider one though as that is my favorite of the Marvel films - seems like store stock was especially low and I neglected to pre-order. I haven't been able to bring myself to pay $50 on ebay though I'm a little tempted.

I really disliked the comic-book Steelbooks that Universal put out. But I love those bottom two. Where were they from, and were they 3D blus?

Re: Ant-Man 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray -- 12/08/15

Fun day trying to acquire my Ant-Man steelbook.

Had preordered for pick up at store #1. Didn't get around to picking it up until today. Arrived at store #1 to find out someone pulled the regular version and not the preordered steelbook. After about a half hour of them looking and trying to get things squared away on the computer, I was told that they could hold one at store #2 since they showed 6 on hand, and the contact sees them and will set one aside. I was ready to forget it, but I was heading that way anyhow, so I accepted.

Drove to store #2 only to be told by the lady that had taken the call from store #1 that while she was going to grab one, she saw someone scoop up all six. I was told a third store that was nearby still had four on hand. She had someone actually have it in hand to set aside before I headed out. At this point it was more a holy grail type of quest than it was to actually have the product, so I forged ahead.

Arrived at store #3. customer service and in-store pick up said they were the only ones there and they took no such call. They still showed four in stock. I was told I should go look on the shelves for the item. <Thanks for the help> Lo and behold, I found two still on the shelves. Grabbed one to purchase. At checkout, now that the sale is over, I was being charged 29.99 instead of the 27.99. I made a plea for a reduction and eventually received such.

What a fun way to spend a couple hours to acquire an item I wanted but not to the extent of the hoops I went through to get it.

Sounds like you got Manzana'd.

Interestingly enough, even though it shows not available at any Austin area stores online, I stopped by one today and saw 4 copies on the shelf.
