I have to ask, does this Blu ray have better picture quality for this title than the previous? I heard it's been rumored to.

Same dated master. Less DNR. In other words, it's mediocre instead of appalling.

1. Cameron has to approve any remaster, so, uh, I'm assuming we'll see a 4K master next decade?

2. Yes. Lionsgate's digital copies work on both iTunes and Ultraviolet.

And a better encode (AVC) , not as soft as the old one ... You just don't get the third cut...

If you are a fan of the movie, you will not regret getting this.

Best its looked and probably will look until will get a proper remaster from Cameron.

I bought the HD-DVD German steelbook version a while back and it looked pretty good. Grainy in areas but I prefer that over any DNR.

Unfortunately, my computer is just one generation too old to use the "Flixter" download thingamajig. (Also the fact that I had to sign up for Flixter was a burn). So no movie download for me.

I miss the good old days where you could just get an iTunes code and download it and that's that.
