Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread
Further to that earlier news of THE PACKAGE being reissued on a 50 GB disc, I happened to notice pre-orders on Amazon for a couple of other titles that appear to be getting similar so-overs: THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY and JUGGERNAUT. Presumably there are others I haven’t noticed yet.
I can only imagine Kino’s gonna make a habit of this now, as I’d imagine a lot of their prior releases were perfectly satisfactory 25 GB discs. The pricing on the two mentioned above seem to be in the ballpark of their predecessors so I’m sure they’ll be on sale eventually. Still, decisions, decisions.

Anyone who bought Stone Cold have their copy yet? My Amazon pre-order says it won't arrive until June.

William Petersen (Manhunter, TV’s CSI) and Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Mississippi Burning) face off in a deadly game of cat and mouse in this riveting action-thriller directed by cinema legend William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist, Sorcerer). Full of style and grit, this raw tale of corruption and revenge boasts one of the most harrowing car chases ever caught on film and a shockingly explosive ending. Federal agent Richard Chance (Petersen) has a score to settle, and he’s through playing by the rules. Whether that means blackmailing a beautiful parolee, disobeying direct orders or hurtling the wrong way down a crowded freeway, he vows to take down a murderous counterfeiter (Dafoe) by any means necessary. But as the stakes grow higher, will Chance’s dark obsession with vengeance destroy him? The ultimate ’80s neo-noir, To Live and Die in L.A. features John Pankow, Debra Feuer, John Turturro, Darlanne Fluegel, Steve James, Dwier Brown and Dean Stockwell, with cinematography by Robby Müller (Paris, Texas) that captures the City of Angels from the trendy elegance of Rodeo Drive to the seedy, neon glow of Hollywood.

Has anyone picked up Needful Things and watched the 191 minute TV Cut?
https://kinolorber.com/product/needf...pecial-edition
I wonder if the TV cut is as high quality as the Theatrical version? I've been looking for the longer version of this but nobody wanted to give it up. Finally, it looks like KL might've done it:

That’s not out yet. Link says it comes July 25th
The current version that’s out doesn’t have the TV cut (I have it).

Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread
The TV cut only exists in standard definition and is encoded on the Blu-ray upconverted to 1080p. My player seems to have issues with blu-ray full screen videos (like Salem's Lot and Doctor Who / Tom Baker, in that it shows as cropped on either side. Will I have essentially the same issues with the TV Cut?

Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread
What does that mean in layman's terms? Will it be an improvement over the original full screen and will it look better? My player has issues with blu-ray full screen videos (like Salem's Lot and Doctor Who/Tom Baker, in that it shows as a box on my WS TV, and if I want it to fill the screen I have to change the video format from 16x9 to All Direction Zoom.)
We won't know specifics of how the disc looks until it's released. That version was broadcast on TV in open-matte 4:3. It could be authored on disc in pillarboxed 4:3 format, or they might try to crop and zoom it to 16:9.

I would probably get Death Wish V. It's the only one in the series that I don't have in HD or better.
Hopefully they get Paul Talbot to do a commentary track at least. I don't really expect any other bonus material otherwise. Bronson, Golan and Michael Parks are all deceased and there really is no other cast members worth talking to. And the movie for intents and purposes was a dud and I read that Bronson hated the final product.

Maybe they could round-up the surviving Canucks-of-note from it – Saul Rubinek, Robert Joy, Chuck Shamata – for a little featurette.

I know it's probably slim, but I would love if KL somehow got the rights to Bronson's final 3 movies. The Family of Cops series that aired on CBS in the 1990s. Or even Donato and Daughter aka Dead to Rights that had Dana Delany.

I'll admit I didn't have Monk as a release on my bingo card. Though most labels have found issuing season sets a non-starter for long-running shows unless the show is still running.

Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread
Don't recall these being mentioned earlier, but I just stumbled across Amazon listings for the first three entries in the Kino Cult series coming Oct. 24, which presumably ties into their similarly titled streaming channel (?). Honestly, they're scraping close to the bottom with the Lash Larue titles (and frankly the Franco title, too, IMO) as no amount of upgrading will improve the experience much, but I guess they know by now that collectors will buy everything these days!
Looks like previous extras are being carried over, at least. I do wonder if Kino will be picking up other Mondo titles now if the licences are expiring?
