And I see my questions were addressed in the general announcement thread.

I still haven't watched my Leone DVD set of the four films. My backlog is ridiculous.

Rob's homebuilding show was actually watchable for that genre of reality tv.

Drop that zero and get with the hero!

The fact that they're promoting the disc as having an "audio commentary by film historians" cracks me up.

Many of their recent discs have such commentaries. They often talk about other work cast and crew have done, not paying much attention to the movie that’s being shown. Cool as Ice went to video pretty quickly after its theatrical release, just a couple months if I recall correctly.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

On a related note, I just started watching my BD, which I bought a year ago of The Ambassador from Kino Lorber.

It has an amazing cast for being a Cannon Films movie. Robert Mitchum, Rock Hudson, Ellen Burstyn and Donald Pleasance. And it's actually a good action thriller. I remember seeing this in the video stores in the 1980s, but never got to see it until now.

and most surprisingly of all, there's actually a topless sex scene with Ellen Burstyn. She was 52 when this movie was made. That surprised me.

Not bad but some outfit needs to issue Fear of a Black Hat. That movie isn't even available on most streaming services, much less Blu-ray.

Years ago I heard a rumor about a 3-4 hour cut of CB4. Was there any validity to that?

No idea but most comedies shoot hours of extra footage when they have no idea what will be funny on screen.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

Probably no extras, but this was a guilty pleasure of mine. Guilty of drooling over a 21 year old beauty in Jennifer Connelly. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. If I don’t have digital, I might get this and even though KL has done good with smaller and bigger movies, but they are also bare on some. I hope I’m wrong, but think it might be bare...

Wild Geese II is coming to BD. I haven't seen this in many years, but it's a pretty decent action movie. It's an in-name-only sequel from what I recall to the 1st movie that had Roger Moore and Richard Burton.

You can all thank me for Career Opportunities. After finally deciding it was never going to show up on BD, I bought the digital copy last month.

I saw this movie only once on VHS. I don't recall it being very good. They did use the Survivor song from Rocky III in it.

Interest might have risen a bit if they could've gotten present-day Busey for an interview!

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

There's two movies I'm looking forward to that they announced but still haven't released (Get Crazy, announced in April 2019 and Times Square, announced in September 2019). Is it normal for them to take so long to release after announcing?

I think it's because of the sheer number of titles they work on. They'll license a whole ton of movies at once, knowing that some will need more work than others, that usable masters aren't ready when expected, etc. And then sometimes elements are in worse shape than previously believed, existing masters aren't really usable, a partner's remaster is lagging behind, yadda yadda yadda, but they won't necessarily know that until after the deal's closed.

For Get Crazy, Kino Lorber said in late January that there were no updates to share. For Times Square, they said last summer that it should be out in 2021, as they were still working on the master.

Just have to say that I watched their 4K UHD release of Mad Max the other night and thought it looked fantastic. I highly recommend it if you like the movie. Way better picture than the Blu-ray.
