Wonder Woman is pretty great. If I remember correctly they used a rejected script for the actual live-action film that was going to be handled by Joss Whedon.

Yeah, Red Hood and Doom are my favorites. I also like the Dark Knight Returns as two separate movies.

I haven't seen the edited together version of The Dark Knight Returns but I liked the two separate films too. I know the other version is the same thing just edited to be one film but I feel like the story flows better in two parts. I wasn't the biggest fan of Peter Weller Batman though.

Just watched Justice League Dark and liked it--I'm familiar with Deadman (mostly from Brave and the Bold), Zatanna, and of course Batman, but not the others. I was surprised to see Camilla Luddington credited as the voice of Zatanna. I have kind of a crush on her, but it's partly the accent, which she masked in this, so I guess that was good voice-acting.

I also saw Return of the Caped Crusaders, which was the goofy ridiculousness I expected. Adam West and Julie Newmar sound old. :(

I actually think West still sounds pretty good. Maybe I'm used to his voice in more modern times from the work he's done on Family Guy but it sounds fairly close to how it did in my opinion. To me Ward actually sounds more different.

Best Buy has a bunch of the animated movies on sale this week, including some of the graphic novel versions from $10 to $13.

Saw the review of Wonder Woman CE on bluray.com. No way in hell im getting it. Same video, slightly different audio and what seems to be a new extra promoting the live action. No thanks. SteelBook be damned!

I picked up the steelbook today. I never bought the original release and also had a $10 Target cartwheel perk, so that helped a bit. It's a good looking steelbook too.

For someone who didn't already own the movie before, the Wonder Woman steelbook is cool, but I think it's slightly odd that the animated cover art doesn't match the animation style of the movie at all. That's true of many of the DC animated movies though I guess. Just a weird thing that bothers me slightly.

I noticed that too. Very odd. This was an easy pass for me...

Very odd? None of them really match the artwork and style of the movies

Though I didn't go as far as oldboy, what I meant by "slightly odd" was that I find the general practice of dramatically different animation style on the cover art to be odd. I didn't mean that it's inconsistent with most of other DC Animated releases. I just find it to be an odd choice for covert art designs on animated movies, no matter how often they do it.

Was that a re-buy for you?

I would have re-bought it also if I just had the previous Blu Ray.
Already owning the whole hardbound graphic novel, Blu Ray and HD copy, I just couldn't.

File this in the Extreme YMMV department, but my Best Buy had an end cap for DCAU Blu Rays with several LE versions (the kind with the little figurines) for $14.99 each (I remember Justice League Dark being one of them. There were like four). They also had the OOP Wonder Woman Hardcover graphic Novel for $12.99 and Dark Knight Returns Hardcover for $9.99. They had a space for Death of Superman Hardcover as well for $12.99 but it was sold out.

I mentioned that above in post 805. It's in their weekly ad as well, so they should be available pretty much everywhere. I price matched Target on the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. I already have both individual releases, but figured $10 for the novel was worth it.

Double dipped on the Steelbook for Wonder Woman. I was on the fence about getting it but it's pretty nice looking. My Target had two other copies left so either this one isn't selling well again or people aren't buying because it's a re-release. I

Reminding everyone that Vixen: The Movie comes out Tuesday.

http://doblu.com/2017/05/22/vixen-movie-blu-ray-review/

This fits into the Arrowverse's continuity.

The WW re-release also had a Best Buy exclusive that includes 3 art cards

It's not really a DCAU film even though it is something animated by DC. It more fits into the CW DC Universe.

Batman and Harley Quinn still looks fun. The more I hear of Rauch I have mixed feelings on her take as Harley. Some parts she sounds good but other parts are iffy.

Nope, not this time. Target did get it a week earlier than everyone else.

It's set in the CW's Arrowverse continuity, so technically doesn't line up with the other animated DC projects.

It exists as Vixen's origin story on Arrow, mostly written by Arrow's producers.

Wow, is this the first DC animated movie coming in 4K?
