Item hasn't gone on sale yet. They always list an item as "Sold Out" before an item is actually available, at least with steelbooks they do.

Just ordered a copy of the 3D steel book. It just went live this morning. Picked up the Frozen 3D steel book from them last time.

Interesting that the exclusive is £5 cheaper than the regular 3D release.

Why does the thread title have quotes? It negates the thread showing up when you search for it.

Just ordered the standard 3D release from Amazon. It came out to £19.33, including shipping.

Do we know for sure that the UK version is Region Free? I don't see that wording in the Amazon item description.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

Technically that Amazon listing is unofficial. Hence no detailed info. Heck, they don't even list a release date yet. But Disney releases tend to be region free so this likely will be as well.

This was the case with Frozen and that is region free. Giles mentioned on the Frozen thread that Dumbo and The Jungle Book are the only titles Disney has region locked - so far.

Hmmm.... Maybe I should cancel my pre-order until we know for sure one way or the other.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

apparently the Hong Kong editions coming out on March 3rd are released in both a 3D release and a 3D/2D combo edition. YesAsia have them up for preorder.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

So everyone in this thread has a 3D HDTV?

I don't own a 3D HDTV, and I'm just surprised by all the uproar about Big Hero 6 not getting a 3D disc. I thought the 3D HDTV & BDs weren't exactly huge sellers and on everyone's wish list.

That being said, I'll probably get one of the 2D releases coming out on Tuesday.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)

3D TV hasn't been as big as the industry hoped it would be, but those (including me) who did buy them are pretty rabid fans of 3D material. I've got at least 75% of every US 3D Blu-Ray issued so far, some of which I bought even before I had a 3D TV- it just made sense to have the 3D version right away when I could still watch it in 2D in the meantime. What Disney is doing is absolutely insulting- first they hyped 3D, overpriced it then complained about low sales, so then they yanked it and made it streaming-only but kept putting discs out in other countries. My parents got me "Frozen" when they went to Italy next year, I'll either order Big Hero 6 or see if my friend will pick it up when he goes to England later this year.
