Who isn't? I have to track down Ryan O’Neal before he croaks to get that Barry Lyndon poster signed. The Kubricks are always hanging, but I rotate larger stuff.

The reflection makes the photos look funky:

Very nice signed Kubrick posters!

Can't make out the signatures on The Shining. I see Danny Lloyd, Shelley Duvall, ?, ? (Scatman, maybe?)

I’m confused. Shouldn’t your movies be piled up all over the floor with kitty litter dust all over them? I thought you were supposed to be a movie lover?

dex14 - that's a great looking collection and I hate to be a downer, but it looks like you're in a basement: do you have any concern about flooding because that bottom row is especially vulnerable.

It's always a concern, but I'm not too worried about it. When the water heater blew, it was contained to the utility room (with sump pump). I don't think natural flooding will be an issue. But thanks for jinxing me!

I have a sump pump. Used to have two but took one out and replaced with a drain, which is nice incase you lose power.

Do you get these signatures in person/mail in or do you buy the posters already signed? I participate in plenty of sports signings and occasionally see celebrities added to the mix, but would love to start getting more movie posters signed.

Does anyone have custom shelving?

I bought my house about 2+ years ago and am realizing that buying Ikea Billy Bookcases doesn't feel efficient, as they are eating up space without storing too much.

Was curious how much it would cost to put custom shelving (similar to dex14's setup) into a room.

Doing it yourself is the way to go. Fairly soon I need to take over another wall in my office and build an extension to my shelving.

A 1x6x8 board is roughly $12 currently if you’re looking for pine. Oak and walnut are crazy expensive.

Mine are custom. My brother did it. It depends on what kind of wood you get and how much of it. We used this:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/5-4-in-x...0974/202085989. I covered a lot of space, so it was well above a grand just for that. Plus there’s trim and what not on it. I would imagine you could do it cheaper with different materials.

No way, really? Those are essentially the same astronomical lumber prices as last year. $12 USD for a finished 8' 1x6 ismore than 50% higher than normal. I had planned to build a small outdoor staircase off the side of one of our porches up at the lakehouse this summer, but I may have to defer it if the PT spruce costs more than $100-$200 total.

Same reaction as yours Norm, I am like holy cow that is a huge collection of films. I do love some of the rarer film sets that get their own space on a shelf. My next thought was that if someone were keeping films in their collection and planned to eventually gift them to a museum, that the pictures in this thread represent the type of collection that a museum would kill to inherit, one that was accumulated over a lot of time and with a lot of love and tender care to ensure the films and posters remained in great shape for years to come.
