Re: Show us your stuff! (aka how do you store your blu-rays?)
well, we finally cleaned our shit up since we're selling the house.
- I boxed the majority of the DVDs, as they were unsightly. There's about 200 that are being donated to the local library.
- I boxed up ALL of the Criterions (DVDs and BDs) because they're special, and I'm not comfortable having them out when randoms are going to be in and out of the house.
- All other BDs are sorted on the shelf behind the stuff on display.
- The curtains pull sideways (manually, no motor) so I can do full 2.40:1 projection, or as small as 4:3 projection. CIH FTW!
I was going to spoilerize for size, but... nahhhhh.

That's beautiful. I'd like something similar. I have so many discs though that the entire walls would be shelves.

Thanks guys. After putting all this work into cleaning it up in the last two weeks, it's made me appreciate it (and the rest of the house) more than I did before.
My new place won't have as nice of a space for something like this, but I'll do what I can. I'm going to miss it, though!

I know. It was the only place we could put it in the house. That said, I was using it while watching seasons of The Wire. I have yet to start Season 4...

Constant height screen- that's more than what many new theaters can claim now! Glad to hear the DVDs were donated to the library rather than disposed of!

Should have guessed it would shoot up in price once it went out of print but never looked at aftermarket prices. Glad I bought it when I did. One of my favorite sets to have on the shelf even if not every film is great and I wouldn’t sell it even though could likely make a good amount off it. Still regret not getting the complete Friday the 13th Blu-ray collection.

Well that set is the first and only time that all the movies in the franchise (to that point at least) were all together in a set. Considering the films are spread out over so many studios it’s impressive Shout/Scream was able to work it out. I think that’s why it’s desirable.

Interesting. Even sweeter since I got it for free from that TCM screw up.

You probably could . . .
.
It's actually been even higher than that, well over $1000, and people still pay. I've been so tempted over the years, especially as the majority of the films had never held enough interest to own them prior to this set, but knowing it's essentially irreplaceable keeps me holding on to it.

I almost bought that Halloween set several times when it was under $100 but kept talking myself out of it simply because the majority of the Halloween movies aren’t worth owning. Still a beautiful set though.
Mostly I regret missing out of the Scream Factory lithograph that came with the first printing. I still check eBay every once in a while for it. Hoping to frame one for my theater room some day.

I won’t sell it, I was just saying. I have them all digitally, even apart 6: Producers cut, but it’s just a timeless collection. That is, until the next ultimate collection after this current trilogy is over with all dem...

You know, it’s funny. I bought both the Halloween and F13 tin set on release. Got it for whatever 1st price was. What was original sale not retail price? But never dreamed they would be collectors items. I have them both in good condition, even though wouldn’t sell and I have them all on digital. Halloween you saw in pic, but if you see the F13 set on right it’s just the digibook. I have the complete set, glasses, etc. but you would never believe what I use the tin for...
