I agree with you but I assume that this strategy is still being used because it works. I care a lot more about content than trinkets, Batpods, etc.

That said, I don't value extra content as much as I used to. That also said, I value GOT content more than nearly any other kind, just because the show is so rich and complex.

I picked up the Wal Mart exclusive at lunch. The guy said the store only got 2 copies in and I grabbed the last one. The Joffrey Funki Mini is actually pretty funny and I like how it comes with the bonus disc for "Planning a Royal Wedding."

Can't wait to dig into this this weekend. We just finished Season 3 on Sunday and have been dying to find out what happens next.

BTW, did anyone pick up the Target version? I wasn't really interested in the bonus disc since it's online anyways, but the book is supposed to be pretty cool (and around 40 pages). I was curious if anyone wanted to post a couple pics.

Blurgh. I wanted to get the Best Buy bonus disc with the regular crow packaging, but the BB bonus disc only came with the house-banners covers.

I have ordered both Best Buy and Target exclusive versions. My plan it to keep the bonus disc from Best Buy and combine it with the Target version. The key will be how much interest there is for a the Best Buy version sans bonus disc, but with everything else (including the exclusive Martell slipcover).

The Martell cover is now sold out. Luckily I ordered the Tyrell cover as Best Buy screwed up my order and have yet to ship it despite sending me a shipping notice this weekend. Hopefully that one doesn't sell out before they pull one for me.

I already got a shipping notice and tracking number for my Martell set. Will not know for sure until I open the box, but for now I'm going to assume they sent me the correct version since it had a separate option for ordering.

The book is pretty nice. The artwork is by Robert M. Ball, his work kind of remind me of Mike Mignola of Hellboy famed. You can googled his name to see his arts. Glad I got my copy earlier this morning cause my Target are sold out of the bonus book and disc.

For anyone still undecided, get the Target version. The Beautiful Death book is Fucking Gorgeous.

There's a picture for every individual episode. It's basically a coffee table book in tiny form. When the series is done, I expect there will be a (real) book with all the images.

I'd actually rather have these in a full-sized book than a tiny blu-ray case-sized volume. Maybe that will happen after the final season, which will also be a lot longer than forty pages.

Can someone clarify... Do the Target and Walmart editions contain the exclusive bonus content on a disc, or is it digital download only?

They both come on discs. I'm not sure if they are both blu ray discs though, but I would assume they are.

Anyone know how long the Wal Mart exclusive is? I ended up picking up the Target version as well, so now I'm trying to decide which to keep
