now thats a set I would buy.

Including Jaws, E.T and Jurassic Park just seems stupid and overkill when such great sets already exist for each. This box set is a step down for those movies.

So, I'll have to buy *eight* films (three of which I already have on Blu) to get the *one* I want (DUEL)? And, I'll have to pay $200?

This is one case where I'll not feel the slightest bit guilty about heading over to the deep end (torrents) to grab DUEL.

I'd really like Duel but that's about it as I already own Jaws and E.T. and would likely just pick up the Jurassic Park trilogy or individual releases at some point.

It's always been Paramount. My DVD release from back when it came out is a Paramount release..

E Unit

Munich is on HBO ON Demand and it has the Dreamworks and Universal logos at the beginning. I don't recall ever seeing Paramount associated with this one.

Maybe I'm wrong. I could have sworn I remembered it being a Paramount release though. I have the DVD packed away somewhere so I can't just dig it out to look.

Edit: Yeah I'm wrong. I looked it up on IMDB and it's listed there as being a Universal/Dreamworks release.

I'm sure the 4 new titles will see individual releases within a year of this set's release. Personally, all I'm interested in is Duel.

I've got nothing on Schindler's List, however.

I'm personally holding out for single releases of Duel and 1941, since I really don't feel the need to double dip on Jaws, E.T. and Jurassic Park (nor do I want to own The Lost World at all).

Always is really good and has Audrey Hepburn's last screen appearance. I would buy that too.

I have never seen Duel or Sugarland Express though.

Universal holds the American distribution rights to MUNICH. Just to clear that one up. The most logical reason it's not on this set may be just for sales purposes. MUNICH is Rated R, which would make this set much less 'family friendly'.

Like any Spielberg fan, I already own Jaws, E.T. And the Jurassic Park set. I would buy 1941 and Duel on Blu Ray if given the chance, but not this set. Have no real desire to ever watch Sugarland Express or Always again.

Yeah, if they would've replaced Lost World with Munich, I'd buy this in a heartbeat, even though I already have three of the titles on blu.

I woud be tempted if it included very title Uni could release in one package. Would just sell e dup BD's I already have. But as announced, I'll skip the set and hope for individual releases. Especially 1941 and Always which never got a decent US DVD release.

1941 is one of Spielberg's worst films. There are maybe a few funny moments, but most of the jokes fall flat. I remember I bought this is as a blind buy DVD in 1999, and it was the extended version only, so I had to sit through 2 hours and 26 minutes of that crap!

Nope, it was "family friendly" or whatever the hell they like to call it.

No, not all the time, I've noticed a lot of Paramount titles are actually OAR when broadcast. But they definitely don't do it a lot.

I know I sound like a broken record, but it's still difficult for me to believe that this cropping BS still goes on in the age of widescreen TVs. It's really kind of sad.

Widescreen being the standard means nothing. Joe Q Ingnorant Public wants their screen filled. Doesn't matter how much, or what part, of the picture they lose in the process.

And quite honestly, until anamprphic DVD releases and larger screens become the norm, I wasn't all about the OAR either. Letterboxing on 19" screens sucked.
