The steelbook has dropped to the $24.99 price on Bestbuy.com and you can choose in-store pick-up if anyone was interested.

The BB store I'm doing the in-store pickup at no longer has the steelbook available for in-store pickup. If they're legitimately sold out, it could be a low print run like the Thor2 steel - and I'm assuming this will have a much higher demand than Thor did.

And it appears Best Buy doesn't guarantee you the lowest price when you pre-order. I guess I could call them, bah.

$24.99 is the ad price so I was waiting the price to get there before placing my order. Even if it wasn't a steelbook, the cover is still so much better than the other options.

Steelbook isn't worth an extra $5 for me over Target, so i'm still planning on that for my purchase.

They've gotta just be behind on adjusting it, right? Ugh, and no easy way to email them about the order either.

edited to add: and they just shipped it out to me. I wonder if I can do a pricematch TO THEIR OWN STORE in a B&M.

Yep, mine shipped as well. I'm sure if I call them they'll issue me a $5 reward certificate or something.

So Best Buy's page says that there's no DVD in the 3-D combo or with the 2-D disc?

When I've called with issues they've sent me physical gift cards in the mail.

I think I'll get the 3D version of this from Target. I likely won't ever use the 3D disc but since the price is the same as the regular there's no reason to not get it.

That's how I've ended up with most of my 3-D discs, like Frozen, Tangled, and The Avengers.

I actually have a 3D tv I just never use it because it never seems to look right and I don't feel like taking the time to figure it out since I don't really care about 3D in general.

Same here, I have zero interest in 3D but I have random 3D versions just because they were the same price.

Mine shipped today, too. I checked my order no. on their site and it was already adjusted to the lower price.

Frozen? That wasn't released with a 3D disc in the states.

Amazon has pre-orders up now for both the 2D (19.99) and 3D (24.99) sets.

There is no DVD in either version. Some of the major studios are starting to phase out combo packs. Fox isn't including one in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Honestly? I have a 3D-TV and think it looks MUCH better than what I get at the theater (with the possible exception of IMAX 3D). I'll rarely see something in 3D in the theater, but almost always get the 3D option on Blu-ray UNLESS it doesn't include the 2D as well.

I actually think the poor quality of most in-theater 3D has hurt/killed home-TV 3D, but that's a discussion for another thread.

That's the best news I've heard in a long time, although it SHOULD be dropping the prices for those packs as well (which it doesn't seem to be).

This would be topic worth opening another thread for. I've been curious to know how many have 3D TV's vs how many actually use them. As for myself, I tend to buy any version that has a 3D available as well, but I haven't paid for a 3D theatrical showing since Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. And that's only because my daughter wanted to see it that way.

Jesus this still isn't out yet? I feel like I've had the Vudu copy for ages now.

It does seem to have a much longer time to get to disc than most other movies; 5 months, where as Spider-Man 2 was closer to 3 months.

The list price for the single disc Cap 2 is $32.99. That's low for Disney new release. With a DVD thrown in, it's probably the usual $39.99 listing and $22.99 in store price. So it is a tad lower selling for $19.99 in stores.
