Bummer on the lack of Unrated cut. It will still be mine.

Never saw it in theatres, but this is a Day 1 purchase for me.

Day 1 purchase. Big fan of the movie. Was very happy to see this in theaters. Probably one of the best international action movies recently.

Where the hell did you find a $5 Blu?! Weird as hell that there's no unrated cut, and disappointing too. Double-dip? Wonder how long it'll take for the price on this to go down at work?

The Sony titles are often on sale, and those prices drop usually pretty fast. That's how I got the first one for $5.

I didn't hate it or anything, but this let me down too. I'll probably pick it up cheap down the line for some of the action scenes as well.

Pretty much how I feel. This along with Captain America are my favorites so far this year.

I'll just wait this out and see if an unrated HK release happens.

There was a panel discussion with Gareth, Iko and Julie that I watched on YouTube.

He mentioned that even though cuts were made (and scenes omitted), the Theatrical Cut is his preferred cut.

So nothing to worry about?

personally I can't stand director's that placate to the demands of the MPAA when it comes to watering down violence, sex, et.al.- last time I checked the MPAA aren't filmmaker's and bowing down to their standards would not constitute 'preferred' in the mind of most directors. Some studios have the pre-screened MPAA edit as the defacto 'director's cut' not the sanitized for the masses version. Secondly MPAA ratings are only applicable for the US theatrical/home video release of films, NOT for international releases, but because some studios are cheap, they don't edit two versions.

I was about to say, UNRATED was meant for movies like The Raid.

Don't get me started on the MPAA

Damn, so if I want the unrated cut, I have to forfeit my UV copy . That sucks. I'm sure that getting this into wide release meant the MPAA was going to force them to compromise, but I assumed that as with the first movie, there'd be an unrated video version. Damn. Rock and a hard place . At least I'm region-free.

Where else besides the UK will the unrated version be available?

The movie was fucking long and bloody as hell already. How much more could be added?
