No luck for me with an adjustment .. they told me Amazon.com does not have a price match guarantee and that amazon.ca is independent and they will not match

Nice. Ironically I think the only time I've ever contacted Amazon's customer service in the past about a price adjustment was when I ordered the Scream Factory version of either Halloween II or Halloween III. I had ordered it from them and a couple of days after they lowered the price by like $5 or so. They gave me the difference that time too. The only other times I've contacted them were for exchanges on defective items (I bought a burn on demand CD of the Breaking Bad sountrack and the disc was rotted and I bought the Blu-ray digibook of Batman and it arrived with a damaged front cover).

Same thing happened to me. Do I just keep trying or what? I don't want to sound like a jerk but I would love $30ish off :P Ya'll should report the lower price using the prompt on the item page.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

What you might want to try is cancelling your order and then re-order. I read on Blu-ray.com that sometimes they keep track of the order number, so perhaps a new one won't enable some kind of trigger. Could be a coincidence, but it worked for me because I cancelled my one order and then re-ordered. So who knows.

still no dice ... canceled and placed a new order and they still wouldn't do it .... kept telling me that .ca is a partner site and they don't pricematch regardless. I said fine, and canceled the new order

Sheesh. They are stubborn. Wonder if the gig is up for something, got a notice for all PM on this set...

Does anyone know if the Canadian version of this set is different? It's probably superficial, but does it have French secondary lettering? If so, forget. It shouldn't bother me, but it does. (Nothing against the French mind you)

Find a price that's in your budget and you feel comfortable paying. Do you want this on the 23rd or would you rather wait?

I mean is the current $118 price on Amazon too expensive for you?

Think you misunderstood my post (it was poorly written, but was in response to achau9598). Just meant that perhaps Amazon got a notice not to PM this set anymore. I already got it for $86 and change.

Just curious if Amazon says they aren't in the business or price matching, when did all this business of emailing them to price match become the norm even though they say they don't do it?

I guess I don't entirely understand their price matching policy. They lower their prices on certain items if a competitor has the same item advertised lower but it seems hit and miss. Personally I think its sort of odd that the prices among their own sites would be so different. I would think they'd try and make their pricing somewhat uniform on items that are offered in multiple regions.

They price match against major competitors like Best Buy and Wal Mart, 100% every time. Amazon.ca is not really a competitor and this is an unusual case.

I know they do that when their ads are released. But customers emailing them or making requests for price matches is not in their policy right? That's why they said in my email it's not in their policy to do that.

What do you mean? If you see a major competitor like Best Buy or Wal Mart has a lower price, let Amazon know and they will price match. They have a section on every product page specifically for price matching. If you contact them about a website they've never heard of, they probably won't price match.

Look at my post 392. The rep said Amazon does not offer a price match guarantee. He made it sound like you cannot contact them to get it cheaper after you placed an order for whatever price they sold it is. But he said he was making an exception.

I'm aware they price match to stay competitive after the other B&Ms release their ads.

Well I suppose technically that's not wrong. They don't offer a price match guarantee for all stores, and it's wise of them not to make that claim. I can say they definitely price match for major stores like Best Buy and Wal Mart, even if they don't come out and say they'll do it every time. This definitely applies for pre-orders and their "pre-order price guarantee." I pre-order from Amazon all the time and they always price match stores like Best Buy and lower your pre-order price even if it was higher when you made the order.

Look at this page:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MMPB3VG/ref=s9_simh_gw_p74_d6_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=1ZQZC57666DZKTD2763E&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200422&pf_rd_i=507846

Scroll down below the product details and you'll see a link to notify Amazon about a lower price.

I wouldn't worry too much about what a specific rep said because the rep responses in regards to this Halloween amazon.ca issue were wildly inconsistent.

Depending on your internal rating by Amazon, some CSRs will make adjustments on a price if you contact them through chat or phone. Bypass email, those are all handled by low-level staff in India with little real power.

It doesn't work every time and Amazon only allows it so many times for each customer.

I clawed and scratched with the CSR, but I finally managed to get the price down to $94.99. Not quite as good as $85, but I'll take it. It was a hard fought victory.

So I assume they keep a log of how many times you contact them about account issues and that if you aren't abusing the system so to speak by trying to get credits for petty reasons or constantly trying to get pricing adjustments your rating is higher? If so that makes sense to me and I can see why they would do that.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

I knew I was going to order this item, but was in a holding pattern until I saw what the prices were going to be and where it was going to be available. Once I saw this information about the Amazon.ca price and possible price-matching I went ahead and ordered from Amazon and immediately contacted them via chat about price-matching. I placed my initial order at 7:16 pm and by 7:23 pm had the price adjusted from $118.96 to $85.67. Thanks for the tip everyone!

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

Glad to see so many are getting Amazon to price match down to $90 or below. That is a great deal, I can't wait to get this set and watch them in HD for the first time. Good luck to those who are still fighting the good fight.

All this leeway with Amazon pricematching tells me the set has some ways to fall in price.

It would be amusing if you all go through all this trouble, and Amazon does end up lowering the price before release date anyways

Like I said, ya'll should do the "report a lower price" thing. Maybe with enough pressure they will lower it.
