No. Fox has reissued catalog titles with new cover art for some reason but the discs are the same. Commando, Home Alone 2, and From Hell come to mind.

So, what's the official word then... Both cuts of the film, or just the Unrated Director's Cut?

This popped up in my Amazon "Quick Picks" today for $7.59. Hey, it's only 40 cents, but I'll take it.

For the heck of it I stopped at my local BB and they had one copy left... Upgrading my 20th anniversary collector's edition dvd steelbook with this one!

Picked this up at a less busy Best Buy around here - they had three copies. Think I'll watch it tonight.

Is the commentary the same as the one on the Criterion DVD? I understand the cancelled DC Blu-ray also had a commentary track, was that recycled from the Criterion DVD? Or does this Blu-ray have a commentary track that was used on the cancelled DC Blu-ray but is different from the one on the Criterion DVD?

It's the same commentary as the special edition mgm/fox DVDs that was recorded for those releases, not the Criterion DVD. What canceled Blu-Ray are you talking about? Criterion was never going to release the film on Blu Ray as far as I know.

He's talking about the canceled original MGM release, which had some extras (commentary, documentary, deleted scenes), but reportedly also had a crappy transfer.

Watched this last night... Never saw the original blu release but night and day compared to my old 20th anniversary dvd. Absolutely no complaints. This is a steal for $7.99 especially with the BB movie cash on it.

Moved one disc from the steelbook to a sleeve and put the new bluray in it's place.

I totally caved in and bought it this afternoon at Best Buy - guess I'll be a masochist and see the remake now, to warrant the 7.99 price [bites tongue]

oh and it looks (aside from one quick shot/scene) and sounds fantastic!

I hope the Amazon release gets the free ticket. I'm kinda interested in seeing the remake but I'm 100% for it if I can see it for free.

Did people think this looked bad? I watched it last night and it looked pretty good to me.
