I saw the new trilogy set with the remastered version of Robocop at Walmart tonight for $15. Doesn't seem like a bad deal for the three. I'll be getting the remake too but it's going to be on sale at Target next week so I'm waiting until then.

Amazon is selling it for $14.99, as well.

Refresh my memory on Robocop 2 & 3. Are they as bad as I remember them? I haven't seen part 2 since I saw it in the theater and I can remember nothing about 3 except that I didn't care for it at the time.

2 isn't as good as Robo 1. Cuz Robo 1 is one of the best fucking films ever made. Robo 2 is actually good. Not great but it is close to it. I say that but I haven't seen it in like 15 years. 3 is a piece of shit.

IMO Robocop 2 is one of the better sequels ever made. But I'm holding out on upgrading to blu until they do a SE like the first. If they never do, I'm good with my re-mastered DVD.
Robocop 3 is indeed total shit. It's why I have never went for the trilogy sets. Definitely a franchise that should only ever have double features.

I agree. I loved Robocop 2. It was crazy over-the-top ridiculousness, but it was so much fun. That Irvin Kershner sure knew how to make a sequel that properly expanded a franchise.
But then Robocop 3 really shit the bed - it's biggest problem being regressing to a PG-13 rating after a couple of the most brutally violent movies ever made.

I dunno about the sequels comment but I would totally get it if it got remastered. 3 can die alone.
We did get some good toys out of Robo 3. I had that like 18 inch or whatever figure of Robo. That was pretty cool. voices and all. Interchangeable hands, gun in the leg, gun arm. I'm pretty sure that thing cost a lot in that time. Shit. I'm sure it'd cost a lot now.
Ugh. Yakuza robot. or whatever. Jesus.

Robocop 3 also gave us one of the better movie themed computer games. One of the first with real 3D polygon graphics. I had the Amiga version and played the shit out of even though I had never seen the movie.

How does the word "ninja" get into a screenplay about a robot which weighs 1,000 pounds? Shouldn't whomever you bring the script to smack and you in the head and tell you to start again?
