Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Bummer about JGTH not being the UNRATED and superior cut on BD. As far as Jason X goes - the original New Line Platinum DVD release only ever had the R rated theatrical cut. Never even knew there was an uncut version of it.

Looks like I won't be buying this set. Do it right the first time or don't do it at all.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Would have been an instant buy for me if part 3 was in real Blu-Ray 3D, but using the awful red and blue format means no sale. They can take that as nobody wanting catalog titles anymore if they want, but the real reason is that I want them done right. I'll just buy Shout Factory's Amityville set instead, which will include the 3rd movie in that set in proper 3D, despite being from a smaller company that doesn't have as many resources.

I cancelled my order for now until there's a price drop. As much as I want the set it is kind of lame the unrated cuts that are available aren't included. Hopefully with Halloween next month there will be a sale on it.

Yeah, the price is a bit too rich for my blood at this point in time. I'll hold off until there is a sale sometime down the road.

Yeah it's rather disappointing as I really wanted the ser but I can wait it out a while. I at least have the Crystal Lake Memories documentary coming which will tide me over a while.

Same here. My price point is at $59. It just doesn't seem worth more than that.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Such a shame. This could have been a good set had it been put together properly.
I dont think this series will ever get the respect it deserves on home media. It's a cash cow and that's it.
Only way I see this series getting a deserved treatment is if a company like Shout! are able to get hold of it. Otherwise we will continue to see the same sets being released with new Cracker Jack trinkets as added bonuses to make fans think they are getting something worthwhile. Unfortunately though, people will continue to buy these sets and as long as money is being made, the series will stay as is.

As much as I want sales to be good for this series, I kinda hope WB goes bust on this and that they know why.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

With all this information that everyone is posting, I'll probably wait for reviews or a price drop.

I waited on the 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' (Best Buy Exclusive) to drop and that paid off pretty well.

Honestly I think overall the set is still decent it's just disappointing about the lack of unrated cuts. Aside from that the set sounds pretty solid, I just don't think it's worth $90. If I can get it for like $60-$70ish I'd be happy.

I can't wait for that one to arrive.

As for the movies, I've got them on dvd if I feel like revisiting them any time in the near future.

I have the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan DVD box set and the Paramount Deluxe edition DVDs. Plus, I have all the New Line SE releases and the F13 2009 movie on BD.

I have more than enough F13 along with the extras available to satisfy me. Plus with the new documentary coming in the mail this week, I will pretty much have everything F13 that I need for years to come.

That's why I'm passing on this or waiting for a massive price drop. I have better things to spend $100 on than waste it on something I don't really need.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I've only got the first three films on Blu-ray from Paramount, the 2009 remake on Blu-ray, Jason Lives on DVD, Freddy vs. Jason on DVD, and The Final Chapter on VHS (haven't actually watched it in years but it's one of the first VHS's I bought and the cover art is cool). That was mainly why I wanted the set was to fill the gaps but I've seen them all enough times that I can wait a bit longer.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

11 movies for $100 was a bargain in 2009. Now...it's just to damn much.

I really want this on Friday but just can't commit to the $100 tag.

I tend to agree. At $7.92 per movie, it's not bad but when you consider that 4 out of the 12 have been out for years (on Blu-ray), it should be lower. IMO around $80 would be more reasonable.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. This time last year I would have jumped all over it. Now seems too pricey. Plus the Nightmare set was what, $45 at BB when it came out?

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

What's with the Tin anyway? Seems like they could have released it just in book form and saved some cash. I don't get how a tin relates anything to F13. I thought only Band of Brothers had it?

The tin is to also hold the 40-page "Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th), a Camp Crystal Lake patch and the two 3D glasses. But yeah, they could've dropped that and lowered the price.

So a bunch of crap?

I'll try and wait for a slimmer version of the set (or a UK release?). I really don't have room for some silly tin and I expect most retailers won't either. How are they going to stock this?

Mad Max Trilogy has a useless tin as well. It doesn't even have spine text on it.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

This set is worth $50w/ $10 mail in rebate
If I lived near WB I would walk on over and take a big dump on their lawn because that's what they put together in this set.
These companies need to stop milking fans with the same shit over and over. It's like WB took a page out of Paramount's 'How to screw over fans' book.
While I want the F13 series to do well in sales because I am a fan, I hope sales for this set are low and that WB see why they are low.

SD isn't that far away. Why don't you make a day out of it? Hit up some shops in Burbank, maybe catch a flick, and then drive past WB and shit on the lawn.

Looks like I won't be buying this set. Do it right the first time or don't do it at all.

Is this yet another fuckup on Paramount's part, or does the whole franchise reside with WB now?
