Ok now, stop screwing with me on a Cleopatra Release Date.
I'm starting to notice details on a Cleopatra bluray release. But they won't list a release date. One should be coming up soon or they wouldn't of listed the product- right? First day pick up here I just need to know when.

The big announcement news today is that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has finally set the Cleopatra: 50th Anniversary Collection for release on Blu-ray here in the States on 5/21. The 2-disc set includes the 243-minute version of the film fully restored, along with audio commentary with Chris Mankiewicz, Tom Mankiewicz, Martin Landau and Jack Brodsky, 6 documentary featurettes (Cleopatra Through The Ages: A Cultural History, Cleopatra’s Missing Footage, Fox Movie Channel presents Fox Legacy with Tom Rothman, The Cleopatra Papers: A Private Correspondence, Cleopatra: The Film That Changed Hollywood and The Fourth Star of Cleopatra), 2 Fox Movietone News segments (archival footage of the New York and Hollywood premieres) and theatrical trailers. The set comes packaged in a full-color book featuring rare images from the making of the film. You’ll find cover artwork below.

05/28 Release date now. I noticed that the 2-disc set without the book has a running time of 113 minutes. The version with the book has a running time of 254 minutes. I ordered the 2 disc set without the book. So is this a shorter movie or just a typo? Anyone know? If it is right, I may have to cancel my order for the one without the book and reorder the one with the book. That's not confusing is it.

I don't think there's ever been a short version of the film on DVD... And it shouldn't be on Blu-ray.

They had a trailer for the movie at Iron Man 3. Apparently it'll be back in the theaters for one night only. I remember seeing that movie on TV as a kid. It was impossible to follow. Spread over 2 nights with a ton of commercials in Pan and Scan was the worst

It's a UK release. Amazon says that it's Region B, but I can't confirm. Amazon listings aren't always accurate.

It's a typo, never pay attention to the details in press releases. As for the Cleopatra BD itself, I wasn't as impressed with the restoration as the hype would lead you to believe. The transfer doesn't look much better than any of Fox's other catalog titles of the era, which haven't been that good.

Re: Ok now, stop screwing with me on a Cleopatra Release Date.
Does anyone know the difference in the discs between the digibook and non-digibook versions?
the $25 digibook version from amazon
the $17 non-digibook version from amazon
Is the disc content the same between the two?
Thanks!

Saw this in theaters about 10 days ago, the restored print for this BD. I was the only one in the theater, but I liked it. Except when they played trailers during the intermission.
