Meanwhile, it's my favorite Harrison Ford movie...even over RAIDERS. I never get tired of watching it.

Not really sure why but it's always been one of my favorite films to be honest. I think it's one of Harrison Ford's better roles where he wasn't exactly playing a big name character such as Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Jack Ryan, etc. (even though I do realize that The Fugitive is based on the series of the same name). I also think it helps that the film has aged pretty well (in my opinion at least).

This disc finally comes out everywhere on Sept. 3rd, but some folks have reported getting theirs early. Has anyone here watched the new transfer yet? How does it hold up?

I got it in today and will watch tonight and let you know. I never owned the old disc so I won't be able to directly compare.

I like wasting money so I pre-ordered the new disc and still have the old one. Once I get it should be fairly easy to spot any differences if screenshots haven't appeared by then.

At time code 18:57, check to see if the flub with the crew member's head in the frame is still visible, or if it's been digitally erased.

OK, so at least we know that it's a different master, not just recycled from the earlier Blu-ray. That's a good sign.

The original disc looked very drab and mediocre all around.

Also, the new featurette "Thrill of the Chase" is only 28-minutes long but it's a good retrospective with new interviews with the some of the cast (Ford, Jones, Pantoliano and even Jane Lynch).

OK worth a purchase for me then. One of my favorites of the nineties.

The HighDef Digest review says that this is a significant video quality upgrade:

Yeah, I'm really happy with it all around, though I'd have preferred a newly-recorded commentary with Ford, Jones, and Andrew Davis.
