I'll rent this one. I hope Kiss the Girls shows up the same day.

I'm a HUGE fan of the James Patterson books, yet they keep screwing up this character on the big screen (yes, even KISS THE GIRLS - as good of a movie as it was - didn't "do" the character properly). Denzel Washington SHOULD have played Cross in the 90s instead of Morgan Freeman; and Tyler Perry was another bad choice this second time around.

It's a shame, because the movies have never portrayed how awesome the novels/characters are.

Off Topic: Try being a fan of John Sandford's novels. They've done two "Prey" TV movies: "Mind Prey" starring Eriq La Salle which I suspect was a failed pilot or movie series a la "Jesse Stone" with Tom Selleck and "Certain Prey" starring Mark Harmon. Both of them were atrocious and didn't come even close to getting the main character, Lucas Davenport, right. Personally, I see Josh Brolin as Davenport.

As for Cross, at one time Idris Elba was going to play the part. THAT I would've like to have seen.

I'll rent this. I wanted to see this in the theatre, but considering how horrible most of the reviews were, I'll wait to rent it for $2 at my local DVD/BD rental store.

It seems like a decent time killer at home.

I actually did like this in theaters, but not enough to buy. Perry did some good dramatic stuff, Matthew Perry also did well as the bad guy.

I'm going out on a limb but I think you meant Matthew Fox...
