I think Splendor In The Grass is a fantastic film that never gets mentioned. Is this the first time it's ever been on BD?
It's a shame they didn't go ahead with a 4K on it but not surprising.

Splendor would've been more of a lock for a UHD release if Criterion had licensed it, but at the rate Criterion moves, who knows how many years that would've taken?

Some titles not posted in the June batch. Spotted these skimming around Amazon last night (where they’re currently $36.99 each). The lack of more 4-film collections from WA has come up here in the past, and three more are coming out on the next week or two. I was hoping for more genre-themed sets as per their excellent film noir 4-pack. The Hitchcock set was a no-brainer too. These star-centric sets probably present more opportunities to slip forgettable movies (like The Last Time I Saw Paris) in with the gems, but if these go on sale eventually it’s probably not a deal breaker for fans of the old studio fare:

Wild! It's $69.99 from MovieZyng. And from my experience, Amazon orders for Warner Archive are fulfilled by Allied Vaughn, who operates MovieZyng. And MovieZyng has coupons and stuff on occasion.

Did it have a lot of episodes and seasons?
I think the Magilla Gorilla was around $36 or less

Had an inkling BLACK SAMSON was on the way.
Years ago Warner did a fun 4-Film Favorites DVD set with that one plus HOT POTATO, THREE THE HARD WAY, and BLACK BELT JONES. The latter two came out from the Archive relatively recently – and I upgraded them at sale prices – so that just leaves HOT POTATO which, to be honest, isn’t very good. The other three are a lot of fun, though. My guess is they’ll do HOT POTATO on Blu anyway, then years from now repack all four of them into one of their Archive 4-film sets.

Speaking of Four-Packs (and Six-Packs), these are also coming in September. Might rethink some single purchases going forward as this is apparently becoming a thing, as expected.

The issue with that 50s Sci-Fi collection is that it's half the same as the Special Effects Collection I have from WB, which has Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young instead of Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman and World Without End

Re: Warner Archive goes Blu -- whoddathunkit?
True enough. I have that set plus the companion Hammer ‘Horror Classics’ set (portions of which will probably turn up in a future Archive 4-pack, too), and I’ve also got the singles of 50 FOOT WOMAN and WORLD WITHOUT END (both worthwhile, btw), so this set is definitely an odd mix. The two earlier collections were nice packages too. Both are OOP, but still not overly expensive. Not sure what they were thinking here.

Re: Warner Archive goes Blu -- whoddathunkit?
That's nothing new for WB. Back when they were pumping out dozens of "4 film favorites" and "TCM greatest classic films" sets, there would often be overlap between any number of sets. As long as the titles in question are also available individually and no one is forced to double up, I don't see the problem.

^ Well damn! That’s long overdue. I’ve been hopelessly checking
for what feels like years now hoping they’d reverse course after the backlash that saw them cancel it, but this new set – hopefully – solves everything in one swoop.
I guess this renders the recent T&J CinemaScope collection redundant now. Had a feeling that would happen after I bought it.

I never purchased The Golden Collection Volume 1, opting to wait for V2 to drop before taking the plunge. And I recently picked up a copy of The Complete CinemaScope Collection thinking "Well... looks like this is going to be the best we'll get." It's still in shrink... Once this one arrives I'll likely gift it to my oldest grandson who's a huge T&J fan.
