Re: How many 3D Blu-Rays do you have?

So who has the most 3D BDs without owning a 3D TV?

I must have 60 or 70 because
1) at one time I really believed I was going to get a 3D TV and didn't want to upgrade
2) some movies (Disney, superhero) I want the best possible release available

I think 10 to 15. I want more, but since I have the 2d version I can't bring myself to double dip to get the 3d

Re: How many 3D Blu-Rays do you have?

I have the Avengers 3D release because it was the same price as the 2D. That's it. My TV is from 07 so hopefully I have a few more good years with it. I really like the Plasma format and it appears to be extinct now.

My current count is 95. I switched over a few years ago to buying 3D combo packs in preparation to getting a 3D projector. I was ready to buy one a couple years ago, but then Sony surprised me by releasing a 4K model, the VPL-VW600. It seemed too early at the time to dive into 4K, so I'm now waiting to get whatever the replacement model is this fall.

Re: How many 3D Blu-Rays do you have?

The Wolverine
Hugo
Prometheus
Pacific Rim
Cap 2
Thor 2
Coraline
Dredd
Prometheus

The Wolverine I only have cuz of the EC. Cap 2 and Thor 2 I only have in those versions cuz that's what Disney had for my membership.

I want to get Gravity but w/ that deluxe edition coming... I'll have to get that one and the 3D BD too.

Nice- only ones there I don't have are Priest (because it's not the theatrical cut, and I have a thing about that) and Predator since that was a direct-to-Blu conversion. Other ones I've purposely avoided are the Hobbit movies (because they're in the wrong frame rate), Voyage of the Dawn Treader (wrong aspect ratio) and Saw 3D (not the theatrical cut, though I'd really love to have that one!)

Price on that one is still too high right now- just watched How to Train Your Dragon 2 which includes the trailer for that in 3D and it looks pretty good though. I'll get it eventually with the money I save from not buying Big Hero 6

Maybe 10/800 blu-rays. I don't go out of my way to get them..
unless the artwork on the cover is better for about the same price.

I have the Promethus special edition because I wanted the extras, same with The Wolverine and Days of Future Past. Doctor Who: Day of the Doctor because it was a combo pack.

I think my standalone player does 3D and the PS3 should, but unless our TV dies anytime soon I just can't see us upgrading just for 3D. My wife has a 3DS but it's been in 2D mode since she took it out of the box. That type of effect just doesn't do anything for us.

What were the 3-D exclusives on DOFP? There were some releases which had exclusive special features which meant that completists such as I might get them-The Wolverine (Waiting for the big post-Apocalypse boxed set), Life of Pi (May pick it up on sale at some point.) and of course the biggie, Prometheus own it. I have Dredd as well, though that doesn't really count, since the disc is the only release and is compatible with the 2-D and 3-D. So yeah, it a nasty thing to do to the fans, but it does work when there're exclusives involved.

Absolutely will not upgrade my TV until it dies. Probably by that time it will be 4K which does not support 3D. I'm not real fond of 3D but I'd use it periodically if it was already in the hardware.

It was the Best Buy exclusive.
