Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

The Target bonus disc is ok and runs about 18 minutes. Basically tells how the movie is taking a new direction from Sam Rami's films. Is if worth the extra $4 vs buying it in Amazon or somewhere else that is $18.99? Maybe. Not sure if I'll get too many more views from it.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

Does the 3D version include a separate special features disc (a la Transformers 3 and Cars 2)? Or are all the special features on the regular edition as well?

Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

I picked up the Target 2D version, and they matched the Walmart $18.96 price. The 3D review here didn't sound very positive. And since it's more than a $5 premium, I am fine with 2D.

the 3D set includes the same BDs for the 2D set...except w/ the inclusion of the 3D BD for the...3D set.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

Ended up picking up the regular 3-disc BD set. Had $10 worth of Best Buy RZ certificates as I said earlier and got it for $10.86 after tax.

There isn't a separate disc, but the 3D disc itself has 2 additional featurettes. One is called 3D 101 with Marc Webb which is about 6 minutes, and Iconic Poses and Digital Environments - 3D Image Progression Reel which is about 3 minutes. Both just explain working with 3D images. Since most of the movie doesn't even have a 3D feel, I don't think it's worth it.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

I bought 2 copies from Amazon, like I said earlier. One for my brother and one for me. My copy arrived without the slipcover, his came with it. So odd and random.

If anyone wants to buy my Target bonus disc for $5 shipped let me know - probably won't watch it again.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman - November 9th

2D copy from wmt had the tightest slipcover I've ever seen. Still a nice thick case. A bit disappointed the ultraviolet was only Vudu, not Amazon, Flixster or itunes.

Yea...the slipcover is stupid tight. But it's beautiful so I can't just toss it.

I got the Target exclusive with the mask case. It's very cool, but unfortunately the disc holder is really wonky (not sure if it's just mine or all). The disc doesn't sit quite right and ends up getting stuck if you put it all the way in (that's what she said ). It's a deep spindle, meant to stack the discs on. It looks great on the shelf, but too bad it can't be used without fear of harming the discs. Oh well. Still cool.

Gotta say the movie really took me by surprise. I was expecting to like it since I like pretty much any superhero movie, but I really, really loved it. I am a big fan of the "old" trilogy (even the 3rd...just not quite as much), but this one really blew them away in my opinion. Awesome all around and surprisingly funny. Only minor complaint is that Gwen looked and acted way too old to be in high school. Hot though!

Doh! Yup...you are right. Had Target on the brain as that is where all the other mask cases have come from. Kind of weird that Walmart got this one.
