Weren't the first couple seasons 1.33:1?

An 18 disc set from HBO? I guess this will have a SRP of $800 or something.

Amazon has it listed as $299.99, and pre-sale for $269.99. It'll eventually drop like Lost did, or wait until the Best Buy HBO sale that's 50% off.

Re: Entourage: The Complete Series - November 6th

^ Entourage has always been one of the cheaper HBO shows to own. They routinely hover around the $20 mark.

That being said, this sucks. I've been going through the show off and on again the past few months. Just started season 6 last night. I'd love to upgrade to all BD (just bought 8 on BD the other day), but I'm obviously not going to be watching it again anytime soon.

It also doesn't look like any of the DVD sets have any resale value either. Like new copies of seasons 1-4 can be had for under $6 on half.com, with the first few sets going for about a buck fifty.

Yes, and until now only existed in standard definition.

I had a feeling we would be seeing this sooner rather than later when HD version of the first couple of seasons started popping up in late night reruns.

To me this set has a lot more replay value than most TV series so I'm definitely going to be picking it. I'm sure it will be closer to $200 on release day, especially with HBO's history lately.

I still haven't seen the last season yet, but I'll definitely pick this up once it drops under $100. Fun show to watch in spurts, especially with the 30 min or less episodes.

Had fun with this series for a while but the last couple seasons killed it. Maybe if it hits Costco for $50 someday.

I'm down when the set drops to a sub-$100 price point. I like the shows, but the second and third seasons were clearly the best by a long shot.

While the first two seasons were framed for 1.33:1, the remainder of the show was framed for 1.78:1. However, in this case, the show was shot on Super 35 and I wouldn't be surprised if HBO went back to the original elements to create an HD version of the first two seasons.

A lovely set, but that last season, especially the last few episodes, soured me from watching it again.

Re: Entourage: The Complete Series - November 6th

I've been holding out on buying individual sets just in case they finally put this out. Since only Season 6 and up are on blu-ray so far, this set is great and something I'm really eager to get... however the price is a total dealbreaker, particularly since I can already stream this in in HD anytime on HBOGo.

The UK will probably have a much cheaper, region free equivalent.

I've never seen the show and am needing something to watch with my Sopranos complete series viewing winding down. Worth a blind buy?

They should have ended the series after season 6.

I read they were making a feature film from the series. Maybe a store exclusive could have it included at some point.

Used to be over $100, now averages $40. This weekend at Frys it was $24.99.
I agree, however you're comparing movie sets to tv series. Three movies is about 6 hours of content. That's about the same as a single season of Entourage.

Another factor, JP & Matrix most recent entries are over a decade old already. Entourage just went off the air.

Re: Entourage: The Complete Series - November 6th

The Mad Men sets go for like $9 each every Black Friday, along with most other TV Blu-rays. This will drop sooner rather than later.

I'll get it when it's cheap, but I just picked up the first five seasons on DVD for $10 this past weekend at my local recycle shop so I can wait.

Re: Entourage: The Complete Series - November 6th

So HBO won't release the rest of The Sopranos on Blu but we'll get Entoruage? Is anyone going to shell out almost $300 for this?
