Personally, I wouldn't be stunned if we see Big Love before The Sopranos.

I agree, however you're comparing movie sets to tv series. Three movies is about 6 hours of content. That's about the same as a single season of Entourage.
Another factor, JP & Matrix most recent entries are over a decade old already. Entourage just went off the air.

But on those surveys HBO keeps doing in those slips that come in the sets, that is still a common question about Sopranos. So it looks like they're still gauging consumer reception about doing the whole series. I'm thinking they will at some point, just don't know when.

Look... The Sopranos will happen, but HBO isn't under the gun to release that show, unlike titles that will (likely) fade away in people minds, such as Entourage, Treme, Bored to Death, etc.
Personally, I wouldn't be stunned if we see Big Love before The Sopranos.

"The Sopranos" is the one crown jewel that HBO still has that hasn't made the jump to blu-ray (with the exception for "Sex and the City" - but I think the demand for that one is considerably lower) and I have a feeling they will be saving it for when they don't have that many releases in a given quarter and when blu-ray has mainstreamed more. They tried twice and got burned when Blu-ray was a new technology - I think they are just bidding their time.
And an "Entourage" set makes sense because they only have to re-do half the amount of footage and it's a good market test for the movie they are thinking about financing.

I was shopping for it last night online and found the entire series new on blu-ray listed listed on Half.com for around $107 + shipping. I am not fond of the latter 2-3 seasons (6-8), and thought the comedy was really lacking later on so I wasn't going to spring for the entire series. I ended up getting individual seasons 1-5 on DVD used for around $30 total shipped.
