Eh, it's fine. In the Mood for Love is a far better movie than The Game and that movie got it's own thread.

Honestly I like this movie more for how it was shot, the set designs of 1960's Hong Kong and the costumes than the actual movie itself.

I have the Region 0 DVD that I bought in Hong Kong on a trip there after it's theatrical run and haven't watched it in almost 10 years. From what I recall it was a little slow. Maggie Cheung was stunning though.

Also the music, but...yep, I'd agree.

Patrick Dempsey was in both In The Mood and Can't Buy Me Love in 1987. I morphed them together when i saw the title of the thread and thought you were talking about one of those. I don't think CBML has ever gotten a WS release

Translation= I've never heard of this movie.

Though, not to stray too far off topic, I would love to see a widescreen release of Can't Buy Me Love as well...

For what it's worth, I caught my wife watching Can't Buy Me Love on cable recently. I wasn't paying much attention, but I believe it was an HD broadcast. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's likely to see a Blu-ray release anytime soon, unfortunately.

I like how watching Can't Buy Me Love is equated to something which somebody is "caught" doing

Awesome news. My favorite film from Kar Wai. I can't wait to see that cinematography (especially Maggie's dresses) in HD.
