Was at Costco yesterday and there is a $40 rebate bringing it to $110. I decided to grab it for that price. Who wants to buy my old ones?

I'm going to Costco in a few hours, and if I see it at that price I'm going to get it. I'm not a fan of the series but I don't have the DVDs either and I'm sure if I set down to watch it then I'll appreciate its greatness.

I watched a few episodes and yeah, it was pretty good. I can get used to this.
I was amazed at the level of fine detail. The picture is simply bathed in rich texture everywhere. From the carpet strands on the floor, to the wood grain on the office door in the far background, to the texture on people's clothes. It's a joy to behold.
If anything I would say it has more fine detail than Twilight Zone, but I would have to look at it again to compare. It sure doesn't have less detail.

My Costco has it priced at $153 with a $33 discount bringing it down to $120.
Are you saying other Costco's have it priced at $150 with a $40 discount bringing it to $110?

amazing how funny that show could be and to my knowledge not one mention of anal sex in the whole series. I grew up on that show but just not that into owning it.

Re: The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete Series Blu-ray in October
I checked out an episode of TZ and compared with a Dick Van Dyke episode. I know that PQ varies from episode to episode, and probably much more so on TZ since there are so many locations and different directors. Both shows look great, and the TZ episode has more grain and I noticed a little more facial detail (skin pores, for example). Perhaps they cleaned up Van Dyke a little more, or maybe TZ has more grain to begin with, I don't know. But they both look great.
Another difference I noticed was that Van Dyke is encoded VC-1 with an average bit rate in the upper teens, while TZ uses AVC with an average bit rate in the low 20's. Also TZ has English subs while Van Dyke does not (which is unfortunate, however I'd rather have them on TZ if I had to choose).

Looks like they're going to be released by individual season as well. Press release for Season 1.
The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete First Season Blu-ray
With the 2012 release of The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete Series earning accolades from longtime fans, Image Entertainment is giving newcomers and more frugal TV aficionados a chance to experience the classic antics of Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore with the 3-disc Blu-ray edition of The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete First Season. The first of what will presumably be five individual season releases arrives on Blu-ray on April 9, 2013.
Trip into the living room of comedy writer Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke) along with his lovely wife, Laura (Mary Tyler Moore), wisecracking co-workers and nutty neighbors. Winner of fifteen Emmy Awards, this groundbreaking series is consistently ranked among the top TV comedies of all-time and renowned for its top-notch cast and stellar writing. Now enjoy the first season's thirty episodes (1961-1962), each digitally remastered to its original full-length version.
Get ready to laugh out loud with such classics as Rob and Laura balancing a career-building cocktail party with caring for a sickly son in the series' first episode, "The Sick Boy and the Sitter." Then in "My Blonde-Haired Brunette," where insecure Laura disastrously dyes her hair. Or when Rob's shy brother (Jerry Van Dyke) makes an appearance as a sleepwalking Jekyll and Hyde in the hilarious two-parter "I Am My Brother's Keeper" and "The Sleeping Brother."
The 3-disc set features a DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track and a variety of special features, among them:
Audio Commentaries: Episodes 19 and 29, with Carl Reiner and Dick Van Dyke
Head of the Family Original Series Pilot Episode
Interviews with Cast and Directers
Emmy Award Telecast Clips Honoring The Dick Van Dyke Show
Original Commercials with the Cast and Network Promos
Original Network Promo Spots
Photo Galleries: Episodes 1-6, 10-12, 21 and 23-30

I am not surprised.
Most are brought out season by season for maximum $$ and when they are all out the bring the whole season. Now that blu-ray is here they do the opposite.

Any news on how well this was received and, overall, how well it sold compared to expectations?
Any chance we get any other older shows on Blu Ray? Would love to see "I Love Lucy."
