I was going to order the Umbrella one but glad I checked here. I might hold out for the Steelbook.

Will there be a standard 4K at Amazon?

One would think Lionsgate would have a bare bones standard version.... eventually. But I liked having new extras. Since I don't buy often anymore, I have the money to preorder the Umbrella release. I have the old DVD in a box somewhere so I didn't want to take a chance on Lionsgate.

Re: Dogma

The LL edition is supposedly going to have some features the Umbrella version will not have. This includes a 90-minute documentary. Umbrella is going to have the encoding/authoring done by Fidelity in Motion, so there's that selling point. It's also going to have a couple of other exclusives.

Actually you can't check the details on Lionsgate Limited yet. It's just a splash image.

Pre-orders live on 11/11

Anyone with any experience with launch time on these? Midnight EST? Completely random?

JeffTheAlpaca 10-23-25 01:07 PM

Re: Dogma

I hope it is not like Air Jordans where a bunch of bots take all the inventory at launch time.

There's always the chance the LL doc will show up on YouTube. Dogma is one of my favorite movies but I'm not sure I want to double dip just for extras. I have a few says to decide on nabbing the LL one.

Re: Dogma

Digital Bits is reporting that there will be a non-steelbook standard Amaray version of this also.

Why So Blu? 10-24-25 05:29 PM

Re: Dogma

Now Umbrella has removed it from their site for USA. It's strictly an AUS release now. For those that already pre-ordered it Umbrella will fulfill those standing orders. Looks like the young lady who owns the distribution channels for release wants to make deals with individual territories and so forth.

Re: Dogma

I hate when shit like that happens. I guess I'm glad I got my pre-order in.

Re: Dogma

It was weird that there were two different/unrelated companies releasing the same movie.

Re: Dogma

Now that it's almost the 11th, I'm thinking of preordering Dogma along with Battle Royale. I really liked the job they did with The Descent. Not sure what time they'll open up preordering.

Re: Dogma

1am here EST and not live yet. Maybe West Coast time. Guess I'll check in the morning before work.

The only announcement I saw was for the regular 4K coming from Lionsgate next month.

Preordered both just now.

Preordered the Steelbook when it finally went live (around 3pm EST).

Did my first LL order today; Dogma, Descent & Battle Royale... And all I wanted was Dogma https://forum.dvdtalk.com/images/smilies/lol.gif , never owned the other 2. I need to pre-order the Umbrella version.

Got my steelbook preorder in also!

The Descent has been one of my favorite horror movies since I saw it in a theater. Battle Royale is crazy fun. Have always owned a region-free version on DVD so very happy to get it on 4k.

gerrythedon 11-12-25 08:54 PM

Re: Dogma

Yeah seen both also. Liked THE DESCENT and Battle Royale was ok, but I never thought I would own them. Being a steelbook and packed with some extras, made me get them along.

JeffTheAlpaca 11-12-25 09:20 PM

Re: Dogma

If you want just the standard

12/9/25

It seems a ton of new releases on that day

Re: Dogma

That's a pretty damn good cover. I went for the Steelbook, but that's definitely one of Smith's better cover arts.

JeffTheAlpaca 11-14-25 11:57 AM

Re: Dogma

Maybe buy the standard and keep the steelbook as a backup or collectable.
