Hopefully this means a Wave 3 of the sequels will arrive sometime next year.

Pre-orders for the first wave are up on Amazon. They have a list price of $22.98 each.
Good this is what i've been waiting for. Individual bluray releases.

Amazon has the box set priced at $65.99. Best Buy will have a new set for $64.99. Looks like either a re-price or a re-packaging.

Blu-ray.com just added their review for the single release of Dracula and they have a 9/17 release date. Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man should be available separately on that day as well.

Does anyone know if the individual releases will have the same special features as the set ? If they do, I'll get the individual releases instead of getting stuck with the Phantom movie that I don't want. I will just pick up the 1925 movie that everyone remembers instead.

They are the same exact discs.

Cool. That means that I could get the individual movies and not have to deal with the colour version of Phantom.

It would probably be cheaper just to buy the box set with all the movies than it would to buy them individually. I abhor Indiana jones and the crystal skull and I own it because of the box set, but it doesn't mean I have to watch it. 1 out of 8 movies that you don't like shouldn't deter you from getting the box set and it'll save you some bucks. Just my two cents.

I was at Best Buy today and noticed they had a 6-Disc Set on the shelves.

Looks like it does not include Creature From The Black Lagoon & Phantom of the Opera.

On 9/2, Universal is re-releasing these with new artwork and slipcover. All come with a UV copy.

09/02/14 as stated above. I like the cover, but I'll wait for a good price drop.

Yeah, I already have all the good ones on blu. Why would I bother with the lesser ones on DVD?

I'm sure the MSRP would have been a lot more than it is and it probably would have been issued in some useless box with a lot of junk.

I've been seeing the Universal titles at the store with the UV copies, specifically at Best Buy. They're awfully expensive on their own.

If you bought the old boxed sets, you likely have most of the sequels on DVD anyway. I can't see them doing an HD master for Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man regardless.

You can purchase Frankenstien Meets the Wolf Man on Vudu in their HDX/1080p format.

Is it an upscale, or is there a real HD master for it? It's a shame they didn't do the boxes with all of the sequels on Blu like they did on DVD, but I'm sure it was much less financially viable.

Re: Classic Monster Collection from Universal - 10/2/12

I imagine it's only a matter of time until we get the sequels on Blu. This is probably a last ditch effort to make any last money off of the DVD editions.
