Damn, based on this thread and the poll in Movie Talk, I might need to rewatch ToD for the action challenge

I came across Temple of Doom on I think it was AMC not too long ago. After a few minutes of Kate Capshaw's screeching, I had to turn the channel.

Temple of Doom would be really cool if it wasn't just so achingly dumb.

The opening sequence (originally devised for the first film) is fantastic, though.

It sure is...and it still makes me want to see Spielberg try his hand at a full-blown musical. I bet it would be great.

He's the Exec Producer of "Smash" on TV, so maybe that's as close to a musical as he would want to be.

Spielberg has said he's going to do a musical. But then, saying it and actually getting around to doing it are two different things.

I agree. Temple of Doom is an excellent film in my opinion, and has some amazing set pieces that still hold up. The finale rocks in my opinion and has me on the edge of my seat.

So do I have to buy Crystal Skull again in this box set to get the other three on bluray? Kind of unfair to everyone who bought it on blu the first time.

That's why you hold off. Knowing that the others would come. My waiting has paid off.

The special features from that disc might not be ported over, though.

I have a feeling they'll just include the same discs.

Well, they might re-format the audio from TrueHD to DTS-HD MA, but that's all I'd expect.

If you already have Crystal Skull on blu, just sell it now. Might not get much. That's your penance for not holding off

^ I bought the Target exclusive digibook style Blu-ray when it first came out. I'm going to hold onto it regardless.

I hope they'll have a box set w/o Crystal Skull. Not because I already own it, but because I think it's an awful movie.

Fortunately there is plenty of time to decide but I may wait and try to grab Raiders seperately. Didn't care for ToD and Last Crusade i liked but have watched once from my DVD set. Not exactly a great candidate for an upgrade

The best is easily Raiders but ToD was a film where a chance was taken and it fucking worked. I admire the fuck out of it cuz of what it did.
I'm like you then...the only one I was old enough to see in the theaters was Last Crusade, than I had it on VHS as soon as it was out and it was the movie night movie every week for months. So it's got a special spot with me but I'd agree I'd have to rank it a (close) third of the trilogy (I'm gonna act like that KotCS BR isn't on my shelf).

I love the old fashioned serial-adventure feel of ToD. And though it use to bug me--I now appreciate that there are no Nazis!

This can't be said often enough. ToD has it's own feel, sure, but that's part of it's charm.

Re: Indiana Jones Collection -- Fall 2012

Saw Raiders in the theater, then went to work at a stereo store sometime in 82. They had the laserdisc playing non-stop. I saw that shootout at the bar scene 2000 times. After the first few times I noticed the gun in Indy's hand changes from a revolver to a .45

That looks oddly bright and cartoonish compared to the DVD cover and original poster.
I almost thought it was Brad Pitt.

Will that be the cover in the U.S. too since that link is in Spanish?

Weird that it would say The Complete Adventures, does that mean no Indy V?
