The official site says 5-disc set and only mentions Raiders being given a full restoration.
Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures
Walmart mentions this on their listing: "Bonus Disc with Over 6 Hours of New and Previously Released Content."

This five-disc collection boasts fully color corrected digital master versions of The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, and the highly anticipated frame-by-frame full restoration of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

That says to me that they are going to use the previous transfer done for the DVDs (probably 1080i 2K for the time it was done) for ToD and LC. Just run them through, make them progressive, and color correct digitally.
Sounds like they're spending the farm on the RotLA restoration though.
I bet the actual film prints of all the films are looking rather rough and a proper restoration of all of them would've been cost prohibitive. I know I saw a print of ToD a few years back that looked like it had been dragged under a bus.

Re: Indiana Jones Collection -- Fall 2012
I'm just imagining a worse case scenario. 1080i masters in 2003 weren't out of the question when the only HD delivery medium was TV broadcast (720p/1080i)
So, :-P

The reason that only Raiders is credited with a full-blown restoration here is probably just that it needed the most work. For one thing, Spielberg was never happy with the brightness of the opening scene. That would be excuse enough for him to go in and redo the whole thing.
Was there anything specifically wrong with the DVDs of the other two? If not, there was probably just no need to redo them.

Yes, it's a revision, but hardly a Lucasian change.

Maybe not, but we've seen how masters that made for good DVDs may not hold up well for BD. For instance, although it was a couple of years after Citizen Kane, it's possible that they could have removed too much grain. But, for now I'll assume they're fine if Spielberg felt they didn't need to redo them.

What I read on another forum yesterday is that all three movies have in fact been rescanned for Blu-ray. The first one has received extra frame-by-frame TLC that the other two didn't require, but (if this info is correct) they should all be new transfers.

It is a region free set which is prominently advertised as such on amazon.co.uk. Honestly, I'm not sure what the set is like. I'm going under the assumption that it won't be this book style since they avoided that with the Alien set, the Star Wars set, etc. Hopefully we see their packaging soon.

Regarding the extras disk...think they can fit the roughly 2hrs of KOTC HD stuff plus the first three's SD extras onto it? I'd be nice if they included some of it on the movie discs as well, but we'll see. As long as it's close, I'm hoping to gain some shelf space by trading in the DVD set and KOTC BD....
