The Firm Blu-ray - OOP?

Couldn't find any hits in a forum search on this.

I've been listing some Blu's on Amazon and I see this is currently unavailable. Best Buy had it as an exclusive and now is completely out of stock.

Did something happen with this release?

Isn't this a Paramount release? They have a ton of titles OOP on Blu-ray now.

It's in stock at Best buy.com.

There's a listing but it says "Not in stock: Order now and we'll deliver when available". Like Gizmo said, it's quite possible it's OOP given Paramount's history (i.e. 3 Days of the Condor). Your best bet if you want it is to go on Ebay where I see there's currently an auction up for it.

It's very likely out-of-print. Paramount has no interest in maintaining old inventory of catalog titles that are slow sellers. Literally dozens of their Blu-rays are in that limbo state now.

Re: The Firm Blu-ray - OOP?

It was a Best Buy exclusive release last fall, and I've still seen it on the shelves as recently as two weeks ago. It has a yellow sticker on the front mentioning that it is BB exclusive.

^ Yes but it's still OOP (meaning Paramount is no longer printing copies). I did a search for Oregon and none of them showed it in stock (which I know doesn't mean much, just saying).

Re: The Firm Blu-ray - OOP?

I think it'll get a general release eventually. Best Buy's exclusive deal might be active for a few weeks longer. Who knows.

Many of those MGM exclusives like Midnight Cowboy are also hard to find. I'm sure we'll see all of those for sale by everyone else sooner than later.

Re: The Firm Blu-ray - OOP?

OK thanks guys. I guess selling it for 3x what I paid is a decent trade off.

It's not in. To the TC, do what I did when I couldn't get a copy of Zodiac because Paramount let it go OOP; import. AMAZON.UK has The Firm in stock and it's region free.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Firm-Blu-ray...7334104&sr=8-2

At the moment, it's 13 pounds which should equal around 20 dollars. It's better then buying it from those 3rd party sellers that are selling the domestic version for a hundred dollars.

Besides 3 Days of the Condor, does anyone know what other titles are OOP or about to go OOP from Paramount?

Thanks

^ In Paramount's defense, making some of those titles OOP was a public service.

Oops maybe it didn't. I think I was getting it confused with Aeon Flux. Sorry.

Re: The Firm Blu-ray - OOP?

I saw Tomb Raider in the 7.99 bin at Best buy this past weekend.

Paycheck and Changing Lanes are also OOP.

Thanks for the heads up. I picked up Reds at Suncoast for $9.99 at lunch today.

Check those $7.99 bins that they have set up. That's where I found a copy (along with Blades of Glory which is also OOP) a couple months ago.

FYI: The UK Blu-ray is region free and contains both cuts of the film.

I'm still pissed that 3 Days of the Condor is OOP.

That is the movie with Uma Thurman and Ben Affleck, right?

Did not know it is OOP since Amazon still has it.
