Hah, I came across this on my most recent visit to BN.com. I don't know how to feel about it, other than: if you want to be like Lisbeth, ironically or "fashionably", you can use these earbuds the next time you're curled up on a subway listening to your ipod. Depending on how meta one wants to get, you could use these earbuds to listen to the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack on your MP3 player. (Especially when you're visiting Stockholm & riding the subways.)
I happened to notice because: 1) she was using the same earbuds I have 2) Hers were Sony. I like to make a game of trying to spot all the Sony products in movies by Sony Pictures.

I saw the originals with a friend who had seen the remake first and said the original was waaaaaay better. I don't even think I need to watch this. Or do I?

The earbuds aren't too accurate though, as those aren't the ones she used in the movie.

I was watching something recently from Sony and most of the equipment used was Sony, but I think I saw a tv being used that was LG or another brand. I was stunned.

I think enough people are on both sides of the fence to warrant a view. I have not seen the original yet so cannot give an opinion. Of course it may fall back on which one you saw first as to which one you prefer.

Personally, I enjoyed the American version much more. I read all the books first and watched the Swedish movies as well.

this is turning out to be a nightmare for the OCD/completionist crowd...on another website people are showing pictures that indicate (as of now) 4 different sets of disc art for this set.

I got the 2nd pictured one:
I freaked out a little bit when I saw that the artwork on the DVD was a sharpie hand-written title of the movie and it was a SONY DVD-R disc. Then I looked at the data side and saw that it was, in fact, a pressed DVD disc and exhaled a sigh of relief.
