Anyone else still waiting forever and a day for confirmation that your order has shipped?

Did you order from Screen Archives or directly from twilighttimemovies.com?

Thank you but for a strange reason, I prefer individual keep cases unless the films are sequels. I also own a number of Allen's films already and I'll be picking up TT's "Love and Death," "Zelig," "Purple Rose of Cairo" "Shadows and Fog" and "The Front" in short order.

So far my Woody Allen collection includes the following titles:

Broadway Danny Rose
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Midnight in Paris
Manhattan
Radio Days
Annie Hall
Hannah And Her Sisters
Sleeper
Vickie Christina Barcelona

Arrow will be releasing all of the titles in the 3 box sets separately (except for Manhattan and Annie Hall, which will be the exact same discs that were already released by MGM). And for whatever it's worth, the box sets will most likely be a collection individual cases in a slip case.

Screen Archives...I was just venting with my post, as some of my past orders have also taken a minute to arrive (smaller orders have shipped super quick, but larger ones tend to take weeks).

Ahhh...thanks for the heads up. I did not realize they would be individual cases within an outer box. I will likely hold off then. Picking up everything from Twilight Time could become very costly—I've already purchased three Woody Allen films from them but I can recoup much of that investment. I better stay away from the more mainstream fare via Twilight Time....they may not prove to be worth half of what that outfit is charging for these titles.

For those who were on the fence, "American Buffalo" is now $9.95

Note that this is Sony's "manufactured on demand" disc program. Unlike the Warner Archive, Sony's MOD discs will be burned BD-Roms. As such, the keepcase cannot use the official Blu-ray logo.

For those who do not want to support this cash grab from Sony on cheap BDR media, you can import "Body Double" on a real Blu-ray disc. Don't buy these things because it will only encourage other studios to follow suit. It's BS that this is the only way we will see obscure catalog titles released on Blu-ray disc. There are so many independent labels willing to license these titles. Don't be short-sighted by supporting this arrogant decision by Sony. It's a bad idea for collectors. If Universal can release "The Ghost and Mr Chicken," "October Sky," and "It Came From Outer Space 3D" on a PRESSED Blu-ray disc than Sony can do the same for a popular title like "Body Double." The online collecting community has a huge amount of power to squash Sony's BDR plans. Don't buy them and I guarantee someone else will license "Body Double" and do it justice. You think Arrow or Scream Factory wouldn't jump at the chance to re-release that title? C'mon don't be naive and don't believe the idiots who claim this will somehow save packaged media—in fact, it's one more nail in the coffin.

Almost 4 weeks had passed so I reached out to screen archives ent. customer service and discovered that a CD that was part of my order was not actually ready to ship and they are getting more next week, which explains the hold on my order. Love or hate amazon, at least if there is an unexpected delay with your order they give you a heads up. Also, this CD is still up for sale on the site with no indication that you are technically pre-ordering the cd due to screen archives still waiting on a new delivery.

At least I know I will be getting everything soon enough, so all's well that ends well.

I got it on Friday. And it is PG-13, so it's okay to watch with the kiddo, so it will make the rotation...but this past weekend we watched Seventh Son and IP Man 3, so maybe by next weekend.

Okay, it appears there is a mini-sale going on at the Twilight Time website—NOT SAE. Some of the titles are in the 7 for $70 bundle deal over at SAE but you don't have to buy multiples to get a discounted price. I picked up "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" for just $14.95. Great movie with the legendary Sidney Poitier, Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn.

Twilight Time Movie Sale

Titles:

Alamo Bay $14.95
Bonjour Tristesse $14.95
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner $14.95
Vampires $19.95
Mindwarp $14.95
Royal Flash $14.95

It's only a matter of time until Sony puts out JC's Vampires for themselves.

That may be true, but titles like Christine were OOP for quite a stretch before the Sony edition hit the market.

Twilight Time gets a three year exclusive window, so if Christine sold out quickly, Sony still had to wait three years before released out their own version.

So they'd still have to wait three years from TT's release to put out their own JC's Vampires.

It took them quite some time to sell out 5000 copies...There is also the possibility Sony will add it to the BDR program...if so, glad I bought the Twilight Time version.

Twilight Time discs are officially distributed only through screenarchives.com or twilighttimemovies.com. Any listing for a TT disc you find on Amazon will be a third-party seller.

In case you did not know, it is based on an original screenplay from 1965 by Akira Kurosawa. And yes it is a very good film.
