Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I have Wild At Heart, Titus and The Blob with Vampires on order from Twilight Time. I don't mind the $35 per title since they rarely release anything I want so it doesn't hurt so much, kind of like Criterion. Plus I doubt the studios would release most of those films anyway.

Hopefully if there is an error on the audio for Vampires they correct it like Shout is doing for Army Of Darkness.

I don't know if I'd count on it. I believe there an issue with the 1990 Night of the Living Dead that was never corrected. I may be wrong on that but I don't think I remember reading anything about replacement discs.

The issue with NOTLD was done intentionally. TT actually looked into it with Sony and they said it was technically correct. They replaced the booklets for one of their releases so I have to believe that if there is a technical error with Vampires, then they would issue replacement discs.

Ah. I guess reading more about it Savini approved the transfer but most fans think it's way too dark. I suppose it may not be an error but more of a director changing their mind about how something should look.

Nice pics of Christine.

For those into Count Yorga, this eBay listing has the new Twilight Time releases of Count Yorga, Vampire and Scream and Scream Again for $45 combined. Considering Count Yorga just came out this month, that is a great price.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/COUNT-YORGA-...EAAOSwT5tWH~Pk

Why do I get the feeling Scream Factory would have put the Count Yorga films out as a double feature if Twilight Time hadn't gotten the first one? Scream issued Return of Count Yorga very recently this month.

Got my copy of Vampires today as well, looks and sounds amazing. I havent found the audio issue that is mentioned at bluray.com. Did notice one minor difference, the chapter stops are different from the dvd, but cant really complain any further. Happy to finally have it.

I thought about it briefly, but I'm going to pass on getting Ten to Midnight on BD via this company. I'm going to stick with my old MGM DVD. $30+ shipping is way too expensive for an 80's B-movie.

Most of these movies being released as Special Editions via Twilight Time aren't even worth $30 as catalog titles.

From the way the announcement is worded, it looks like
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNFIGHTER/SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF
may be a double feature. That would be something new from TT.

Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6 were released as a double feature as well. Ditto for Riff-Raff and Raining Stones. They don't do it a bunch, but it's not a first.

Just to clarify, $29.95 is the regular price, so $19.95 will be after discount.

Apparently Murphy's Law, Charles Bronson's 80's Cannon movie, is being released by Twilight Time. Coming in 2016.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Their latest batch announcement, which takes them through April, as usual contains almost nothing I care about.
At some point I'll upgrade Julia, but it's something I can easily wait on a sale for.

So, unless some of the recent titles (like Mysterious Island) are going to be on sale come late March, I won't be ordering any TT titles for at least the next four months.

However, I just found out it's TT that has two of my favorite, and most wanted, MGM/UA catalog titles;
Eye Of The Needle and Who'll Stop the Rain.
Eye is expected this year, and I can only hope it won't be much longer than that for WSTR.
Even though these won't sell out for years, they'll be day one purchases for me whenever they do show up.

Guess I never pulled the trigger on the sale. Oh well.

On Facebook they announced that they have a Panic Room Blu coming but the release timeframe is TBA as they're awaiting for a new 4k scan to be prepared and approved by Fincher.

Must be nice to have the dregs of your career like The Game and Panic Room released by pricey boutique/prestige labels rather than the bargain-bin companies.

No mention of the Benjamin Button Criterion?

I loved The Game. I remember liking Panic Room for a thriller but haven't seen it in years.

I wonder if they'll be able to keep all the extras from the Panic Room dvd, which took up two discs and were better than the movie itself.
