Wait an hour after ordering officially opens. Too many idiots try the minute it becomes available. This won't sell out in less than 48 hours.

I would love to get 10 to Midnight. It's one of my favorite Charles Bronson guilty pleasures. But, $29.99 plus tax and shipping seems like a lot for a Cannon Films B movie.

Why the hell did Twilight Time get the rights to it instead of Olive or Kino Lorber? I know it's limited to only 3,000 copies, but it would easily have cost 50% that price on another label.

When's the last time Twilight Time and/or Screen Archives offered coupons or sale prices for TT BDs? Since ZARDOZ most likely won't be selling out anytime soon, I'll patiently wait for a sale.

Just got in my preorder for Vampires. It wasn't showing up yet on the Twilight Time website so I used the Screen Archives site.

I think I may balk at Vampire's pricing. It's a movie I would surely buy if I saw the Blu-ray at $10, but over $30 with shipping is too much for one of Carpenter's lesser movies. I will hope Sony in some foreign country issues it.

Used 3 accounts and pre ordered 9. 1 for myself, the rest for ebay.

HAH! Just fuckin with ya. I pre ordered one. But I wouldn't have been wrong to pre order a bunch and sell them, because with shipping to Canada and exchange on the dollar the fuckin thing cost me 50 bucks. This might be my one and only Twilight Time purchase.

I've never done a pre order before. Do they charge you around the time you put in the pre order or do they charge you when it ships? I ordered through screen archives.

Spiderbite 10-15-15 05:41 AM

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Screen archives has always charged me once the order ships.

If you used paypal and the "pay after delivery" option you will pay in about 2 weeks.

For those who missed out or are budget-minded, a HDX UV digital copy of Vampires is on sale at Vudu for $4.99. That's good enough for me.

Does anyone know how soon Vampires will ship, if they say its release is next Tuesday.

Shoot, if I had my DVDs out of storage, I'd sell you my Superbit copy for $4.99 :). I preordered the blu from ScreenArchives and just waiting for it to ship next week I suppose.

Edit: My copy of Vampires shipped TODAY! WOOOO! :jawdrop:

Some mouth breathers over at you know where say there's an audio sync problem with Vampires. Nothing has been confirmed, though.

FYI

Agreed. Really wouldn't mind getting Vampires but I have such a hard time justifying purchasing Twilight Time titles because of how damn expensive they are. Especially considering that while I don't mind the film it's not really a classic or anything and most of their releases (including this one) don't bring much in terms of extras or anything. If it was $20 shipped I'd probably go for it but for now I think I'll wait.

I agree with you 100%. The only time I buy a TT release is when there are no other options worldwide, and it's one of the titles on my DVD Master Upgrade spreadsheet, i.e., titles I owned on DVD and have been upgrading since Blu-ray won the format war. Recent examples include At Close Range, and Vampires.

Yeah and plus I have a feeling like PhantomStranger mentioned that Vampires might be one of those titles that Sony releases overseas and possibly here in the US at some point. Same thing happened with Christine just recently. Although in that case Twilight Time was supposed to be re-issuing the film on Blu-ray but Sony decided to release it themselves. I'm surprised they license out films from a big name like Carpenter to begin with as I'd think they'd be able to sell even his worst films just because he has a good size fan base and catalog horror seems hot these days.
